The back support on this crappy chair I had finally broke off (it's been problematic for a while now) so I'm in the market for a new computer chair. Any suggestions BG?
I'd prefer not to spend over 200.
Also... my back is killing me. Halp.![]()

A friend of mine a chair similar to this and it's probably the most comfortable thing I've ever sat on.
The more you spend the happier you will be. Seems to be a common fact about computer chairs.
In before someone suggests one of those chairs that are like 900 dollars because hurr durr they're so good for youuuu
this is what I have and its awesome http://www.staples.com/Comfort-Produ...product_855661
I know you live in the city but if you can find a staples or officemax you can usually get a discount on floor models
People who say that have never owned one, I would never go back to those $200 office chain chairs, fuck that noise.
It's not even cheaper, many of the higher end chairs include lifetime warranties , full/mostly steel construction, and grade 4/5 fabrics(the kind that can hold up for decades). They're built to last 20+yrs of heavy use for $600-$700, how many $99-$300 shit chairs will you guys go through in that time-frame? 2-3 on average, and that highend chair will still be kicking.
More upfront, but a lot less in the long run.
Cost isn't always about the sticker price.
I mean fuck, at my old office I used an office chair that was 50 fucking years old, cause the thing was built right.

Best chair ever.
Can get Aeron's for 400ish. One of the best purchases I've ever made.
Yeah, should check out http://www.sit4less.com or some other sites.
If nothing else, $300 will buy you a hell of a lot more chair than it will at officemax or staples. Even if I'd still recommend going a bit higher for a long-term solution.
Also, if like a lot of gamers anyone is a huge dude I just want to say I highly recommend http://www.sit4less.com/products/off...tall-chair/328
Great full steel chair up for to 400lbs, and even though I've upgraded since, it was one of best purchases I made when I was a lot heavier than I am now, and it's still relatively inexpensive.
Thanks for the suggestions all. In response to the notion that more expensive chair = saving in the long run.. I had a crappy hand-me-down chair thats worth about 50 bucks last me a good 7 years.
Gonna look for that chair or something similar to Ceph's at Staples/Officemax. Probably find other stores and sit on a few to test as well. My back can't take the wait anymore.
In case I dont find anything, if you guys still have suggestions keep em coming.
Also check Office Depot. Sometimes you'll find a chair on clearance when they are clearing stock.
A touch out of your (and most of ours, light the Wop signal) price change but I couldn't not post it in a chair thread:

Go sit in it. Then read reviews on how long they last. My chair was bought in 1995 with my PC, it ran my mom $600. She is still pissed at herself that she gave it to me. LOL thing rocks just as good as the day it was bought.
I side with Grey on this one, spend a few more $$$(maybe not 900) and get a real good chair with a guaranteed long ass life.
somebody recommend me a 500-600$ chair then lol.
herman miller aeron, check ebay you will find a good deal. They last 10+ yrs so don't be afraid of it being used.
Yeah ebay'd/craigslist'd aerons are about as good a deal as you'll find for quality seating. It's not that they are the best around really (If I had the money to spend, I would have gone with something else for sure), its that there are just so many of them out there. They were THE staple go to office ergo chair for up and coming companies throughout the 90s and early 2000s, and with how many have gone bust, they pop up all over the place these days. If you're patient enough, you'll pickup a $700 to $800+ chair for $3-400, nearly the same price as the "top end" chairs you'll find in an office depot. And those won't help you're back nearly as well, nor will they probably last you a good 10-15+ years.
