Some of the pants actually look better than the panties out now. I think if anything, it's even more sexy to have booty shorts, but the belly shit looks rushed and pretty bad. Hopefully they work on that. : (

the only odd thing is them censoring the shirts that show a TINY bit of belly. Those look odd having that little spot filled in, but i don't think they look "bad"
Now that I've seen the alterations, I can say that the short shorts are a good idea, but they did a very half ass job on some changes. The problem isn't the concept, but how they implemented it. They removed intricate art and replaced it with bland, shit art that, that, at it's worst, contrasts poorly, with the main armor template. I'll use three pics to show what I mean.

Starting with the good, this one is actually done well and should be how the rest of the edits were made. The colors match, the shorts didn't remove any art, and it all compliments the main armor pattern. That's the type of change you want to make as it aesthetically pleasing and still keeps the intent of the original armor, without loosing anything in the process.

This one illustrates the first major problem: the removal of intricate art and replacing it with bland art. The mid-section fill in was done properly, but they removed the nicer 'belt' art and slapped on some generic shorts. Why not just extend that main armor pattern, like they did for the mid-rift fill in, around the original belt art, to create shorts? It's not bad, but it could have been done better.

Now, for the worst. This time, they used a fill in color that conflicts with the original color scheme, and replaced the intricate belt portion with some some very bland shorts. Instead of making fancy shorts, to go with the fancy robe portion, they just slapped on some tacky gray gym shorts that conflict sharply with the original design.
Hopefully, they'll fix this inconsistent art before they ship them because they can do a lot better. If you're going to make changes, make sure they make sense and fit the original design, or it will end up looking tacky as hell and an obvious 'censor' job, instead of the enhancement job, it should be.
I think your taking the changes to literally. It's obvious the lighting and HQ graphics are different in each pic. The original art is taken from a lower res computer and the new art from a higher res... and the lighting is different in each pic making one look more intricate in the shade and the other less detailed because its in the light and doesn't have the shadow's reflecting on different parts of the armor/clothing to give off different coloring
@Katlan you still interested in playing Tera? Just curious, I've seen your interest in other games like GW2, and SWTOR.
I'm mainly interested in GW2 & TERA.. SWTOR is just if I become so bored and looking for something to do.. but it's prolly coming out w/in a few weeks of D3 and I'll just be waiting for that. TERA has just, in my mind, gone from being around the corner to a late spring / early summer release so I haven't been giving it that much interest right now. I will be getting TERA though and am still looking forward to it w/e it does get released
Are these overused comments really necessary? There are plenty of people who are playing Tera that aren't "pedos" who don't appreciate the armor changes for Elin. I guess the people who are posting how much of fanboys we are for not liking the changes are the ones who aren't playing and don't see that they're fine how they are now, aside for a few skins with certain animations.
And this is terrible, Kachiko was right. That is by far one of the best skins for Elin in Tera and they completely destroyed it with that body suit and shorts. You don't need a high res computer or whatever you want to make up to tell that they removed all detail from the lower half.

NO FUCK THAT. I WANTED TO JERK OFF TO LOLI BELLY BUTTONS AND PANTIES DON'T GIVE ME THIS BULLSHIT
no seriously, i was gonna jerk off either way.
am i the only 1 that finds it hilarious that people are so worried/upset about belly buttons and panties on the Elins. But totally ignore Castanics costumes and their street walker outfits. Elin chars lost like 4 inches of skin and niggas are up in arms over their precious loli bunnies. And its such minor details too, i thought going with tights was going to be "okay". But going with the booty shorts option was even better imo. Still have the skin the pedos want while shutting the pitchfork mob up. Hell i didn't even notice till the side by side shots. Mainly cuz i was to busy tryin to put my dick through the screen in my High elf archer, but thats besides the point. Why are people so upset over realistically small changes.. When most likely be able to swap the .dats out when it hits in the spring. (i hope)
i will agree with you on this one. ITs nerfed pretty damn bad. They could have atleast kept the crotch decorations and put booty shorts under them.
Yeah, that's my favorite skin too.. unfortunate it got edited. Love the back and the collar is poppin'.
On either side, whether you like the changes or not, all the flaming really isn't necessary. If they put pants and clothes on, censored and made all Castanics and High Elves flatchested, the results would be similar with a different crowd of players, but similar nonetheless. Let's not be hypocrites. If people who like Elans are pedos, are all the males who want to play any female race in this game a virgin? Nah. So why even bring it up?
The only thing that really bothers me about the changes is that they are taking rather important parts of the armors and just changing them to shorts. If they kept the designs on some of the belts and put something on under them, they would look fine, it just looks like a rush job as it is now, like the last minute painted on thongs in Age of Conan. I know I'm not the only person who remembers that.
That's probably the part that upsets me the most, the rush job they did. I can think of a lot more revealing armor to cover up on other races that are ten times worst than the Elin armors they're adjusting. The fact that this is even a process of "westernization" is frustrating. If it's fine for the Koreans, it should be fine for us. After all, it's only cosmetics...
I say no to Elin armor changes ;(

I don't think they care for the other races, the only reason why they are doing elin in general i'm pretty sure is because having an eight year old looking character being more revealing is frowned upon in western culture as opposed to eastern culture. In Korea this game is 17 or 18+ and it'll probably get the same mature setting here so having people that look the age be revealing is most likely more accepting.
^ yes, tera is rated M in the US
Its not because of U.S. laws, its because or Europe and Frogster. But we are getting the same game as the EU crowd. Anyways, don't care much about the changes since there will be a dat swap for everything before retail i bet
There isn't that much lost if you look at it closely. The folds and wrinkles are kept intact, you lose some colour and and some wavey partitions. Big deal. The crotch doesn't make the majority of the costume nor does it hold the most intricate details or patterns, but if that's the most important part...
Elcura is more of an "ass man" (you can tell because he plays midgets) he doesn't care about the front as much.
The detail on the bottom ties in with the top half and makes the outfit. My problem isn't necessarily the change to shorts, it's with the body suit/lack of detail from the original skin. You're blind if you can't see the lack of effort they apparently didn't put into this to make it a decent replacement.
And for the people who are playing Elins walking around with that skin, it's a pretty noticeable, and disappointing change.
