The whole mine area seems to be oriented for lv26-28, making it a cool alternate site to Poporia. Everyone was caught on the SM spam craze however, so this place was devoid of people. I think many people are going to miss it on next CBT.

That BAM was the highest level thing in the area, but there were other bams of the same type as the SM boss that were level 27-28, which were actualy harder than this, at lest for me.

Another fun note: we went to fight one of the kumas in the south west desert, which I think are like lv38, and after about a minute of hitting it the thing was still at 100% HP


Figures. It didn't seem to hard to predict, but as a melee I got caught up on the fliping AoE you say because, well, I decided that it was going to do some directional attack and I was safe behind it. Bad call, seems
Friend messed up on a leap on the silliest of moves. It does a circle attack and he was just leaping out of it every time, but this time his leap was on cooldown and he didn't notice. Kaboom, full HP bar away :3

I went to that cave area in the desert to farm the big guys with the sword, and the little fat duo midgets. They drop Lv 27 green quality weapons and armor (earrings/rings were Lv 27,30 however) ;/
That big snake thing seemed easy on warrior, just alot jumping around and trying to find a safe kite path when he flips... alot crap in that zone...

Every now and then I (foolishly) return to the official forums. I saw that post. As bad as I thought the forums were pre-redesign, they were nothing compared to the state which they are in now. They are literally unreadable for anyone with any sort of sane mind and average IQ. What is it with the internet that attracts people like this and how do thay have the motor skills to type anything?

Found this world boss roaming around and decided that it was a good thing to solo it! Friend joined after a bit. These are the screens I could take without getting smashed by it:

Atrocitas is a fun fight. I absolutely love when he rears up and fails his arms, then does a temper tantrum stomp through everyone. Plus, I just love his look. The blue and silver remind me of Vrtra, my favorite wyrm in FFXI.

Fun fact. He doesn't aggro. I ran up to him on my horse just to get a better look at him while not fighting him. He prepared himself and just looked down on me like I was insignificant. Then he lept back, landing on a group of mobs, killing them... which made me laugh.

While we're on it, could someone clarify the symbols by their name? What is world boss, what is BAM(obviously just the silver skull), what is one of those guild quest mobs, etc. I tried Googling but couldn't find anything.

BAMs don't not have a specific icon, as they're just considered elites. That would be the green/silver icon. Field named and world bosses are the red/gold icon.

Eddard and I spent the last hour of the EU beta collecting outpost warps and exploring high-level areas. We stumbled into the Dark Cathedral, and oh man was it crazy. I think we spent the majority of our time in there running around, screaming like girls over Vent, and trying not to die as we had huge trains of enemies chasing us.

We also went down towards the beach and engaged that crab world boss for shits and giggles. I took one hit for about 3500 through my shield and was like "nope" and sounded the retreat, lol.

Did the same, but we eventualy got swarmed by repops and couldn't handle them. Gonna try again on next CBT, although at 32 it should be much easier ^^

You seemed to de-aggro shit easily... me on the other hand, I had to run a damn marathon halfway through entire zones to lose shit... By the way, those little ghost that are in there were fun to kill with their smiley face sheets.

Edit: While I'm at it... wtf is up with people making characters with ridiculously looking faces.... I understand it's beta but still... put some effort into it?

I love the randomizer, because it reminds people that all of the pretty faces took work to make, well, -pretty-. That, and you can really troll people that think that no matter what you do, you'll always end up with some hottie.

Thanks. Other than thinking the silver meant BAM (are all Elites BAMs?), I was right that red meant World Boss. At one point I thought maybe it meant rare as we ran into a pair of dogs with the red symbol just outside of Poporia and they were quite easy to kill. They didn't have the silver skull, though. When I told someone else they were easy, they tried them.. I guess what I consider easy as a Lancer is not so easy for a Slayer, lol.

I'm quite jealous of people exploring and finding neat stuff. When I went running around over to Castanica and through the desert I didn't find much of anything. I didn't even find any BAM/WB. Most of the areas were completely empty. I was really hoping to find some neat looking BAMs. I did find some neat little dragon turtles, but mostly just scenic stuff.

Can't wait to play this weekend!

Been reading this forum for a while, and its fun. Just registered to ask the following tho:

One thing I'd like to ask, what is the meaning of BAM that you guys are using?

Generic it's used as: Below Average Mentality... but i'm sure that's not what you mean?

In general when using of not-so-well-known abbreviations, it's perhaps better just to write it out, making a post more readable.

I did it with Aion and I've already done it here. Since it's not unheard of me to take 2 hours to make a character (it took me like 5 to make my Aion character, not counting the two remodel tickets I used on her because she didn't have enough freckles and her hair was just slightly off what color I wanted it to be), I've already written down the #s and the slider positions for all my characters, I suggest you do it too if you're weird like me!

Oh yeah I am the same way. Presets are not enough for me. I noticed on the official forums they had a "Post Your Character" thread and a good portion of them didn't look that great. NA folks definitely don't know how to make a cute Elin! There are a few out there that look good, but you really need to work the sliders.
