On another note, I think there's a very very high chance of me rolling an Elin for my main. Pretty much every class I've decided that Elin looks better action/appearance-wise than the other races. I had to draw the line at Metal armor classes though. Castanics just look way to good in that plate armor.

I'm torn myself. I love Elin, but I do like Aman women. They're just so badass looking... but Elin.. the cute and unsuspecting ass-kicking coming from a little *insert animal girl* factor is fun. It just seems so much more fun to me tanking this BAM(literally) with this tiny little cat-girl. I just don't know what I'd make an Aman with. I figured I'd make a leather based class with one because I really dislike Elin leather armor, but Aman leather isn't much better. Leather armor seems to have gotten the short end of the stick in my opinion.

I'm also debating putting the Elin dat mods in come release. While I don't mind the censoring and was ok with it, I am bothered by the bad quality of it. The clipping with the booty shorts, the lack of care around a lot of the edges, the fact they added these new pieces to the armor but the dyes don't apply to them making for some odd looking armor... I'd almost rather have the original, more skin showing models. Yes, I notice simple details like the edges not being smooth and bits of skin showing through, etc.

I really like the heavy armor on High Elfs. Havnt seen it on Castanic yet, other then a few zerkers in dungeons.

I always thought those jagged lines on Castanic were part of the armor until I made one and realized they are marks on their skin.

Since the stomach/shorts portion didn't change at all I was forced to pick from like.. black or that yellowy golden green in order for it to match at all.

And then when I was taking screenshots with one of the later models I had dyed black, I saw a square of the hip showing through the little shorts. And now it bothers me The dye does apply to most of the cloth ones though, as far as I noticed. I was playing Sorc, and my friend was leveling Priest, so anytime we got new sets of armor, I'd dye mine black and he'd dye his pink or green or whatever.

I haven't played on a lancer or berserker elin yet, so I'm not sure about their models, and I didn't get to dye my archer's gear since I didn't play on it this last beta. Seems to me there weren't that many edits with Leather though, except for some tummy covers... since most of them are wearing baggy shorts anyways?

Yeah, the first one you linked was exactly what I meant by dye issue. I dyed mine blue and it looked like the center part went through the wash too many times and faded big time. It didn't look that bad, but I imagine if you try and dye it any other color but black or blue, it'd look odd.

As for plate I haven't seen an issue yet. The booty shorts are normally, for the most part, covered. They don't appear to take dye, though. I'm not sure if they're connect to body armor or leg armor, but these are all dyed blue.

Yeah, it was that one, I died it black then tried to take some screenshots but when I saw the leg clipping I decided against it ;(

Most of the gear, though, doesn't seem to really be effected much by the change that much unless you scroll your camera upskirt. Which makes me wonder, why they decided to change ALL of them because 3 or 4 of them were risque to whichever vocal head honcho was bothered by the armor designs to begin with.

I read somewhere that all the armor changes were done by BHS and not En Masse, which to me makes a little sense as to why it's done so crappily. If I was one of the artists that made these armor designs, with all the intricacies and devotion to begin with, just to have some 'merican come by and ask me to change it because he was uncomfortable with it, I'd probably do shoddy work too. I just hope they don't destroy the new armors (level 60) and what ever comes after that.

Some more lowman madness. Late, about an hour before shutdown on EU CBT4, we went into Cultist's Refugee. Slayer and Sorc, with the shitty gear from the mission chain.

First, how CR looks with 100 FOV instead of the default 60. A must have.


First mini boss, the one that spawns a zillion adds.


And dead. Never again doing this damn thing, it took us forever to kill it... at least until we have enchanted gold gear and accessories and not this horrible blue gear with accessories from lv30.


We timed out after its death, but it's likely that we would've stoped there anyway. It's fun and challenging to figure how to deal with an instance like this, but it was getting tedious as the fights were damn too long.

Indeed, I expect as much at 38. Our gear for that specific try was really basic for the level and in some cases completely outleveled. Our crystal configuration was pretty good though, however my glyphs were probably not the best for PvE. I'm glyphed focused on PvP; most of the glyphing I've done works really good to solo BAMs as well, but it's not very relevant to killing normal elites as I'm basing it on mobility and specific combinations.

Last boss went specialy slow because we had to kite. It was simply not possible to deal with the rate the minis were being spawned, so we took turns on kitting as hate would switch around. Basicly, we had a single DD on the fight... and badly geared, to boot.

So yeah, for low maning it seems gear is pretty much a must unless you want to play some hard mode version... which is also fun, but gets way too long!

The bonus boss adds aren't bad... they hit a little weaker (As a berserker using the lv38 blue axe, I was able to tank/take 0 damage from all of their attacks). I just sat in the corner with 3-4 of'em shooting at me till they fell over and died on their own.

Also.. why are you doing a instance with 1 DD? O_o
1 tank 1 DD 3 healers?

Looks like they were duoing, 1 sorc, 1 slayer; 1 kites, other DD's, switch, repeat.

Correct. Though only for the boss, the rest we do it with different strategies depending on the case.

Also as a berserker... they would all hit 0's
Unlike lancer, berserker.. once you put block up, stays up till you let go, and with the blue axe, only 1-2 boss abilities get through the block for 1-2K, if I had the gold axe (absorbs 2X damage) then I could effectively tank the boss effortlessly... as long as no one else pulls aggro >.>
(I presume lancer has to use MP to keep up their super defense)

I made a new Hunter in WoW just to have something to do until my account expires on the 17th in preparation for TERA. TERA can't come sooner.
