Looking for something super rare... GCN to PS2 adapter

Hello guys, I am looking for something hard to find apparently, and I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find one or another solution w/o buying a whole new dance mat.

You see, I have 2 DDR dance mats for the Wii, which are GCN plugs. Well the DDR available for the Wii just isn't doing it for me, so I ran into a good deal at a pawn shop for a PS2 slim the other day so I bought it with a few DDR games.

I don't want to buy yet ANOTHER dance pad because I just don't need 3 dance pads sitting around... So I'm looking for a GCN to a PS2 adapter. I can find PS2 > GCN adapters everywhere though.

Gamestop sells universal dance mats for 19.99, I tried to open one up the other day to look at how it is "universal" but I didn't want to look obvious
EDIT: looked up pics on the net and its all hard wired...

Has anyone seen any of these special adapters for lower/around the same price at 19.99?

Though I'd personally recommend getting into StepMania if you're fiending for a huge DDR song collection, as packs containing DDR tracks are all over the internet, and it doesn't cost anything.

If you go that route: http://www.amazon.com/Magic-Joy-Box-...0082912&sr=8-4

If you don't, mod the slim PlayStation 2 for free, get Free McBoot, uLoader, etc., and stop paying for used DDR games.

Thanks, but that is a PS2 --> GCN I am looking for something in reverse.

I did that swap disc thing but it just didnt work, it hurts my fingers to stop the disc mid spin and insert another one fast enough. Maybe because I tried to use the game I had for it and it wasnt one of the compatible one. The PS2 would just go crazy and spin/wind down over and over while the lazer went up and down until i shut down the PS2, it seemed like it wouldnt even work even if i DID have swap magic and another burned disk.. Ah well

EDIT: Apparently the DDR disks are supposed to work, so i tried it but i really think i'm doing it wrong.... does anyone know how to do it?

I'm not quite sure how I made this mistake, so I'll look for another one, and will edit this post appropriately. I still recommend pursuing StepMania instead, however.

You don't need to do that with the tape and tissue modding method.

EDIT: Evidently, the reason converters are so rare is because the PlayStation 2 and GameCube controllers communicate with their consoles in entirely different ways. PlayStation peripherals are, naturally, more popular, hence people bothering to program chips with the software necessary to make them work with other consoles.

Yes the two communicate in very different ways, if you were curious people have already done the research as to what pins do what. So here are some links...

Just taking a brief look, there isn't an easy connect this pin to that pin and viola! for the type of conversion you are seeking.

Thanks for your help. I bought swap magic and I'll probably just find a cheap dance pad online too much research. xD
