was there a cool final boss for wotg, i stopped playing before it was finished
the missions were boring and unchallenging up to when i stopped though, which i think was the cait sith/atomos fight, idk

I thought it was pretty cool.
It's exactly who you'd think it is, but at least the "final form" was kinda of 'different'.
i wont lie
i miss ixion
and griefing ixion
Griefing Ixion was always the best part.
WotG is by far the best expansion in terms of storyline content. Delivery of that content was the worst though, turned a lot of people off understandably...but I recently started the missions on my alt and felt compelled to finish them all shortly after starting. Nearly everything was 2 boxable, didn't try the finale with just my 2 characters but everything up til that point was easily done with just me.
That was probably the saddest yet also best part since it's like pulling teeth trying to get anyone interested in doing WotG missions.
Yeah, with the final boss being mission 51 and that excluding the nation missions or "quests" rather (though you NEED to do them to advance the missions)... you kinda get an idea of how much junk there is. Some of the missions were kinda pointless too... and I can also think of at least one cutscene that was retarded as all hell.
Cait Sith shows up and admonishes you for being late and then says she's got an appointment to keep then she leaves.
Literally no point to that scene. Most of the stuff wasn't like that though so I still highly enjoyed it.
Personally, ToAU remains my absolute favorite expansion (in terms of a complete package.) The storyline wasn't necessarily a huge step up from CoP but Aht Urgan felt different enough that there was a sense of mystery going on after the initial slapstick of the first couple of missions. Final boss fight in ToAU was also pretty well done if somewhat a bit of a letdown as to the location of it (probably could have picked some place better.)
Hands down though, the best Final Boss for a storyline mission was the boss for A Moogle Kupo d'tat. I don't think I ever had as much fun in a FFXI boss fight as I did with that boss.
also I found ToAU's story terribly lacking. there's so much there that's just kind of abandoned. like wtf Olduum people. and a lot of the Epharamad stuff and shit was just dropped. the beastmen got some cool backstory flung in and out and forgotten and remembered and then dropped again
Rishfee was #1 badass blue mage though
I was streaming voidwatch nms until people had to bounce out. Then we decided to exp for the night. We didn't have any solid tanks on at the moment and we were just zerging shit down. This only works for so many mobs, so many times. We're doing AV today, though. Stream wasnt super interesting last night, but we usually do a bunch of shit. Last night was just a slow day.
Antithesis... no.
and while killing moogles was satisfying so is killing gods
I honestly don't remember much of ASA, except Fettle Belts and the Hex Tablet buffs and going JESUS CHRIST I HAVE OVER 2K HP or something or other
Perhaps the wording of my post was a bit off. I didn't mean the storyline of A Moogle Kupo d'tat was what I enjoyed (I actually didn't really pay much attention.) It was the final boss fight in the Throne Room that I love. Shit was fun as hell especially if you were one of the mages kiting and attacking it. It was easily the best fight of the three add on expansions and is easily my favorite fight in the game. Divine Might is probably a close second.
