While FF14 continues to fail and my guild has quit WoW, I want (NEED) something fun to play that is active and hopefully online. I'd love something like Diablo or another RPG? Any ideas?

Patiently wait for Diablo III and be disappointed that it doesn't live up to D2's glory days just like everyone else!
did either of you fuckers play diablo 3 at blizzcon last year? cause I did and it played just like diablo 2 except with prettier graphics and I enjoyed the shit out of it
Torchlight II will be out sooner and probably not cost as much as Diablo III.
Can't think of anything out right now that I can recommend apart from standard online play experiences like FPS games and DOTA clones.
I dunno, Sono; I'm not a fan of the hirelings only being available for normal and unusable online. Did you play solo or with others? I liked my hireling; I want them around all the time, not only for the easy difficulty.
Other than that, though, yeah, bring that shit on. Somebody will mod it anyway, and Blizz could always change it down the road.
I've never really paid much attention to Torchlight and I didn't play Diablo. I was more than aggravated with my little brother over D2 because he would keep me up at night with mouse clicks. I was big into FFXI around the time he was big into D2 so obviously, FFXI took precedent. Is Torchlight good? Is it something fun enough to hold me over til D3?
I agree w/ Lucavi. I can be judgmental until I get to try it myself!
I will admit though.. Blizz is like Squaresoft of old... everything Blizz touches turns to gold
edit: anyways, since this thread was never on topic past the OP: I don't know of any mmo's out there that may interest you. I know you tried rift. You could always apply to a different WoW guild and server xfer if needed (if still interested in playing WoW). But there really isn't anything out there until the fall when TERA and SWTOR is released.
there are a handful of awesome console games out atm though that were released in the last month or two
LOTRO is f2p so can give that one a try if you're interested as well. I've been playing it since release and they're gearing up now for the new expansion in September.
Play some guild wars to get ready for guild wars 2.
Torchlight 2 will have an online feature, and should be out this summer sometime if I am correct
I'm really looking to move on from WoW - I guess. I enjoy the game on some level but I don't want to deal with raiding and having to set aside that time week in, week out. I was hoping for a fun RPG game that I could sink into for a few months off and on - I'll be getting FF3/6 on the Wii this weekend but I wanted something on the PC and Torchlight looks cool and cheap on Steam. Not sure how much in-depth or how long the game will last but it might be an option.
Just play a bunch of the F2P games if you have to play something. Pick up Lotro, Aoc and the others.
Perhaps. I still have my AoC discs and all but I'm sort of over MMO's at the moment. Especially the ones with tiered content. My hopes washed away with FF14............QQ. I'll probably try Torchlight.
Anybody ever play Titan Quest? It looks pretty epic.
Briefly. Seemed like a good Diablo style game if that's what you want.
I've been playing Guild Wars thanks to the Steam sale. That might be something to consider - you can play with others (or do PvP), but the game is also soloable by filling out your party with NPCs. Cities/outposts have other players roaming around, but actual content is instanced. Progression is very fast, and there's a much bigger focus on actual skillful play than stacking stats.
Torchlight and Deathspank are both good. Torchlight more for it's gameplay and Deathspank more for it's writing.
