Shout Group Etiquette

Not sure if right venue however I am a bit annoyed and wanted to ask people that seem helpful/decent.

So today I did a /sh for an NM and locked an item. Soon after got a reply /sh saying i fail. I asked why he replied that I was greedy and that my name was all over some forum about me. Now i do try to be at very least a faceless player that has no bad rep. I went and checked this out and only one mention about me locking sobek skins and ardor stones back when i did my sobeks. Little back ground if you need sobek i did with 6, me and 2 friends and 3 random people. Non of which had an issue. However someone felt it was needed to post about me with less than half the facts.

So i guess my question is: Is locking an item if you have a popset ready and forming the PT as well as wanting to manage the players to obtain more sets something people really get up in arms about or is this just some jerk and I am being overly sensitive?

I do love this game and my character and hate the idea of having a bad rep. Any thoughts would be welcome(i hope).

Nikia /shouted for sobek, locked skins, locked a +2 item, and didn't have a pop forcing the people to farm a pop with him. Port jueno laughed at him and flamed him for locking so many things without even having a pop set and forcing people to farm for him. I'm also pretty sure he fulltimes 5/5 NIN AF3+2

So wait, you're greedy because you're putting the effort forward to build a group, deal with their bullshit, lead them to complete sets, and want one specific piece of treasure while they can have the rest? Sounds like someone who is jealous because they're standing around jueno wishing they had basic gear but do not have the initiative to get anything done. Personally I'd never put /sh groups together, but more power to you dealing with dickheads like that.

Really, i dont know why people get so butt hurt about it, if you dont like it, dont go and help them, simple as that.

Personally for me if they are doing skins then take the skins , if they are doing it for +2 then open up skins and get skins another time. Its like joining a seal run where the guy hosting is lotting 2 seals and the other guys coming a long have to buy their pop too ,and have to lot against each other for drops. Just my point of view.

I've joined my fair share of shout thingies, but if someone's locking 2 things I wont consider it, but don't feel the need to shout out about it in jeuno. I'll just leave that to the people who like back in my day stories, over priced rancor collars or selling Fell Cleave leech spots for 75-100k

He must have saw it and is now trying to play victim like he's not in the wrong, which I actually do have a huge problem with and care about. if you're in the wrong, don't play that victim crap like you did nothing wrong and everythings OK and everyone's out to get you and ruin your reputation. You do it yourself by being greedy and stupid.

edit: Yeah, I don't get the paying for felcleave thing AT ALL. I was in a worm PT with mostly pink rangers and undergeared players or people 85-89ish yet I was getting 180k/hour Why would I ever pay for exp when it rains from the sky and tastes like candy?

Yeah, why pay for fell cleave when you can charge people to come and leech in regular exp parties and get less exp for their time/gil. >_>

You're not going to get into that party if you're level 30 unless you pay someone (same thing and a dbag move to everyone else), keywhore (can't afk at all and rare), or dual box a really good DD (can't afk).

If someone has a popset they're king and can do whatever they want. If they are requiring everyone else to farm popsets, it's my opinion that only locking a single item is acceptable.

I dunno, I made my own parties before even beating genkei 1, having 0 atmas, having level30 RSE, having no idea how abyssea worked or how to play, and got 90 continually doing this after beating my genkei's inbetween the parties. I didn't even have cruor to do keys yet I was able to level. If you want to AFK and level, you might as well pay some RMT to level your char for you, buy your char off ebay, or just not play?

I also let my friends leech all the time for free and they get easy level 90's, never really had any complaints besides "is it ok that guy is leeching?"

Most of the time I have to go out of my way to find someone to key for me(i usually want 2 key people) by /sea all 30-55 inv. I do find it funny when I get level 68's who think they can contribute and don't have to key though..

Conclusion: EXP is basically handed to you on a silver platter, you should never ever ever ever resort to paying for it unless you're absolutely desperate and completely anti-social or beyond rich and lazy beyond belief. I actually would probably have to go out of my way to not gain exp in this game now. I'm constantly capped on merits 20/20/9999 with nothing to spend them on.

I will continue to be hard headed on this subject because I want people to stop paying for something so easy to get.

You are coming to the wrong place if you really want to have this debate, lol.

Leveling is a very small part of the game. If someone wishes to use their gil (remember, you can get gil without having to do anything with RMT) to afk or go to sleep while someone exps for them, so be it. This is nothing new. People did it before abyssea.

On the topic of paying for fell cleaves, don't forget about the cruor. Good cleave parties usually pay for themselves if you want to covert the cruor back to gil or can keep it to build up a brew.

Only difference in paying for twilight helm and paying for spot in cleave party is resources/skill/time/etc. you would need to get it yourself and that is why the price is different for both.

Furthermore paying for cleave party is the same like buying something from AH. You can go farm it or go skill up some craft and make it yourself.
So what you are talking about Shiyo is just stupid thinking that your point of view is the right one. IE: Other ppl may have synergy 80 and craft a lot and for them you buying something that can be crafted is the same what you think about them spending gils on cleave party.

Fuck I'll not only pay for a cleave spot, but I'd LOVE to pay for a cleave spot. There's a handful of jobs I'd like to have leveled while I sleep. A few hundred K is nothing, especially if you wanted to take the cruor you got while asleep and turned them into blinkers. If anyone is doing this on Odin let me know.
