What do people usually do for DNC group 2 merits nowadays? I looked around and saw a lot of closed position 5/5 which seems pretty useless to me nowadays since 15 evasion isn't thatttt big of a deal..

Fan Dance on the other hand seems real nice?

You would need to have some ridiculous low pdIF for ascetic to be worth using.

Ascetic is a WS that have giant boost in abyssea. Probably biggest among all WSs.
Why? Because it has very low fTP so every DA,TA adds a lot (ie: 2xTA is +200%damage from Ascetic and 1xTA is +100% when for Vsmite 2xTA is only +76% and 1xTA is +38%). Second thing are modifiers 50%STR 50%VIT. Cruor/Zone buffs alone are probably 30%+ of base damage.

Howling/Asuran should be much better then Ascetic outside.

You will get higher spikes with Ascetics outside, but you will get more consistant dmg with Asurans. The real answer is to just get smite one way or another.

Well yeah but my nin was lvl 45 a month ago I'll probably have kannagi before I get +2 stuff lol. That's just the stuff I had hodgepodged together. Actually just got af3+1 body last night

You can pull your drivers back to the last version that really worked with FFXI. I think that's 266.58 for NVidia.

Sobek drops the +2 stuff for the body and legs. You'll get them at the same time!

Indeed. I looked at the website and it looks like 9.4 is the highest one that Playonline recommends for Catalyst drivers. This corresponds to roughly 8.6 on the driver version according to ATI. I have rolled back. I am now able to run two instances, although it is fairly laggy. I'm certain however now, that it has to do with the crappy processor and nothing to do with the card and drivers. I'm deliberately using a older computer to help fish legendary fish, that was the whole point of this project.
