For an MDT set (PLD in particular) at what point do I start equipping pieces with higher MDB than -MDT? i.e. coral visor is -2% MDT, but noesis helm is +4 MDB, so noesis helm is more valuable? Or should I focus on capping normal -MDT, then have MDB in whatever slots are left over?
Cap MDT with 5/5 shellra5(need 23%) then start picking up MDB in the rest of your slots.
I need some advice on which Empyrean weapon to go after next? I'm conflicted between a Kannagi and a Verethragna since I both have nin and mnk at 90, but I'm correctly in the process of making the relic h2h so it would seem like I'm a loot whore if I choose the Verethragna, but I have fun as a mnk. For nin, I only leveled it up to solo things that mnk can't solo or duo.

Sounds a little crazy, but would it be worth it to make a kinda subtle blow set for war? Replacing low impact items with ones with subtle blow (Rav gorget>Torero or something)? Mainly for monsters with particularly nasty TP moves that I wanna melee still.

For you, look at the Skillchain Chart and decied what would be the best two jobs for the skillchain, odds are it'll be the SAM and the THF as everyone else seems to have more useful / important roles they can fulfill.
2x BLM can work for this but they need to hit those Magic Bursts, Sengikori is gods gift with speeding this up, the turtle can be silenced if your full time WHM is like any other awesome WHM they should have a fairly decent enfeebling kit.
when it goes in shell, try to waste as little time as possible, call out you're going to open so your BLMs can stop resting or doing whatever and go for it, when its out of shell kite it around if need be, if you get stuck with it in shell, get TP back as fast as you can and try again.
