T1 and T2 merits for SMN? Leveling it mostly for long-term use in Voidwatch

5/5 attack, magic attack, wind blade and heavenly strike. you're forgetting the retarded way out acc and attack works now that we're mostly dealing with stuff at/under our level outside of abyssea, so it's better to stack attack wherever possible with +skill.
atma i normally use are beyond, ultimate, minikin monstrosity (anyone know better?)


here's a few good questions:

does bloodboon+ gear (or for a broader answer, conserve mp) gear need to be worn at precast/pact issue, or can it follow the usual bp- gear > bp landing set?

What daggers/swords should a 90 cor have? a 90 thief?

I was looking for the thread but I can't seem to find it; does Sylvan Caban +2 have to be equipped the entire time to enhance Velocity Shot, or can it be unequipped during preshot and re-equipped and retain the effect?

I use this set both inside and outside abyssea, obvious improvements would be Heca Legs +1 and a 4 DEX Earring

Does 3/4 dex win over 10 attack outside on anything worthy of pld (and old hnm/solo)?



What is the advised attribute merits these days? As elvaan does it matter either way? I was 8/8 str but I'm 5/3 str/dex atm.

As some have said, if you're going to do a Victory Smite weapon, you might as well go for the biggun and do Vereth. Otherwise Taurine cesti or the Fire/STR path Taipan fangs.

While I'm a good chunk into Vere, I hate seeing people post like a 90emp is quick to do. (95 trials right around the corner as well) After the NMs,VNMs you can pump out a Emp-1 in a day all the way to a lvl 90. A lvl90 emp is a much greater time sink. If its your main job/jobs sure go for the Emp, but most of us have 8+ jobs and Emp-1s are not a bad route for the lesser used jobs.

Between dealing with WoE leechers (though this should change), the real version is easier for some weapons than the fake version, and they have that unique look.

WOE weapons are only "hard" if you're an idiot who just kills some crabs hoping for a drop every hour. If you do it properly, it shouldn't take longer than 2, maybe 3 days, unless you get reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally unlucky.

I don't think any of the empys are actually easier per se. They might take a little less time for YOU. But the total manhours will still be more for each stage compared to just the coin stage... and well the stages after take no time for WoE. Kinda unfair to compare a full pt or so farming for your empy to you soloing WoE

WoE also only takes 30 coins, sure you can't control which ones you get but you can also come away with 30 coins from a single run. Glory (Sword, GA) seems to be the coin with the most competition, the rest you can get just teaming up with people going after Glory coins.

Saying you can finish the stage in 1 day if you get lucky means nothing. You could also finish in first 4 times in a row, but only wind up with 2 ruin pouches and 1 *insert coin type you dont care for* in those first place coffers, and then watch some scrub who jerked off the entire time lot 950+ on the pouches that they dont even want just want to troll people like you who do want the coins.

and yes I've actually seen that...we'd all go in with comments of what coin we want, the lose lot on the coin they want so they start lotting others, because "if I cant have what I want, then no one else can either".

By that same token, you could get incredibly lucky duoing, and every cleave pull you do loads up with a full set of Chloris KI's, no overlaps, just 4/4 each time, giving you 1.75 buds every ~15 min (check chests, kill Chloris, pull new set of mobs and kill, estimated drop rate of 75% on second bud), meaning you can finish stage 1 in less than 8 hours.

If you have max tonberry hate then the +5% Crit Rate on Rancor Collar is much more beneficial than an elemental gorget for CDC, inside it will depend on the atmas you use (I use RR/SS/AaO so my crit rate isn't capped).
I did use Twilight Mail for a little while when I got my Almace but I switched to Zahak's fairly recently and I've been getting much more consistant numbers so I've stuck with that, the same also applies for Cuchulain's, it was giving much more consistant numbers than an elemental belt

Having done a couple (soon to be 4) emps and a couple Emp-1s I can personally say there is no comparison in the time sink. WoE is dead empty most of the time on Cerb, allowing any group of 4 to farm their hearts out on the first 3 fluxes. I stand by my statement, if its a main job go for the real deal if its a secondary job do an emp-1.

What I found ironic was on Bria people get upset when people competed to pop, but on sobek stage with minax it was just expected that theres no line you spam.

Can't tell you the .dat numbers since I'm not at home, but you can find it yourself:

1. Download ModelViewer or AltanaView

2. Open it, find Amano, note the .dat number, navigate to it, copy it.

3. Paste to Desktop (or wherever)

4. Find Masamune, note the .dat number, navigate to it, rename it ###.bak

5. Go to Desktop, rename the Amano .dat to whatever Masamune was, cut/paste to Masamune folder.

It just says Amanomurakumo(stage5), this is in the PC tab, never used Viewer before either, is there another way to search through them?

Somewhere on one of the status bars (or something like that) it should say which .dat you're targeting. It's not included in the name of the weapon itself.

On AltanaView it's near the bottom of the window. I don't recall where it is for ModelViewer if that's the one you're using.

Edit: For ModelViewer, it's on the top left of the window. 1-176-52.dat would be ROM/176/52.dat

On AltanaView, it's on the bottom status bar.

When I go into the rom folders, do I leave the renamed ###.bak file in there? or do I just delete?
