Is there a list on wiki or elsewhere that specifically names which ws's cause which light effects? (ruby, amber)

Physical weaponskills of all types cause ruby.

Magical/elemental weaponskills of all variety cause amber.

Magic spells cause azure.

Normal attacks/avatars/melee kills cause pearl.

Quick Draw kills will also produce pearl.

As far as I understood it, pearl is made by anything that ISN'T one of the others. It's not even 100% unless you're targeting VNMs.

Was strange getting pearl lights with Heavenly Strike, though I think an automaton's nukes still count at azure. I know, casting vs. readying, that sort of thing.

That said, I didn't realize it was possible people playing the game or posting here didn't know how that stuff worked. I was a bit surprised to see the question pop up in the first place.

Adze is a lot of luck too based on what en-whatever you get hit with. Because you will eventually get hit with one or more, so as long as it's not en-doom repeatedly it's not too bad.

I soloed Adze many times while my team mate was camping minhacao.

I was trying all weapon for stagger all the time (If I failed on stagger I was dragging it all the way to minhacao and holded there till my friend was able to try stagger)

The difference between my tp set, no kurayami, no yonin and my hybrid set above, kurayami and yonin is huge so the magic number of eva is somewhere there.

I once soloed it on MNK/nin too in counter/eva equip and I never got hit ( about 20/20 counters )

1/2 on zelus as mnk/nin + whm/sch. Only had dread + blue. TH would obviously be nice if it's an option.

Fuck JPs, and as far as brewing Pankto goes...just make sure that after you proc you don't start brewing until he goes 2 legs, or be really careful. If you're trying to multi brew, then definitely wait for 2 legs. If he chainspells your brew is gone.

I'm assuming he means that it takes a relatively long time before it's over and you can't damage it while it's doing it. Still wouldn't say your brew is wasted, but you ARE wasting time.

It absorbs damage while casting, and it spams spells while under chainspell for a good while.

I fought him once. 1/1 Zelus 1/1 Torero. It's highly unlikely you're going to get enough information here to draw a serious conclusion, for something this annoying and long (I'd say the hardest mob in abyssea) you really should call in every favor you can.

As stated, he absorbs all damage while casting so you can't do anything. Your brew is by no means gone if he chainspells, my thief friend was able to deal with one chainspell during his brew - it was pretty close though and the thief is very well geared with a 90 twash.

Why brew tho?
I killed it on MNK+WHM and PLD+WHM w/o brew (both with THF SA for TH). If you have 3rd char (best would be THF/nin ofc) to blink backtanking hold it for a while after hate reset move on tank it's doable if you know how to play. With just tank+whm it can be tricky because of hate reset but I guess still doable if a WHM isn't some dualboxed,cure set only mule.

Not sure if this has been fixed but I am pretty sure there are some low lvl elemental ws or least description says elemental that gives ruby, such as blade chi or blade to i think. It was a long time ago when I did my emp weapon but I recall trying to amber with that and getting ruby. The 13 red ws and usually the latest lvl 80 ws that says elemental should be used for amber purposes.

Anyone got experience brewing Pantokrator? Any particular elements do well? Have access to most of the best elemental WSs

We've killed Pantokrator quite a few times now and he's just tedious. The Iron giant you need to kill to pop him is as bad if not worse. Last set of three we did (done 4 in the last week) we killed the first straight up but it took a while because of all the turning you need to do. So we proc'd blue on the second 2 and then had someone brew with Aeolian Edge I think.

In fact the iron giant you have to do to get the KI for Pantokrator annoys me more than the bloody boss himself.

Thats a little exaggerating. Good DD can kill Giant in 2 mins and it's very hard to die on it if you are not lengthen the fight.
Pantokrator requires much more focus. Maybe your point of view is based on not lowmanning the fight in which case 3+ dd on giant will make it really difficult to proc red and AoE will hit them all.

Is there an echo? We just had this discussion a few pages back. No one said he was too hard and you have to brew. He is just a colossal pain in the ass and takes a long time to kill, which makes him brew worthy. You can kill Rani without brew, too, but fuck if I want to spend the time/effort.
