Just re installed FFXI on my new comp after a long break, got Windower DL'd as well, but having as issue with it starting up, every time i try to Launch windower I get this error message.

Access to the path is denied 'C:\Windows\system32\desktop ini' is denied

Also when I try to start it from the Programs menu I get this error message:

StartIndex cannot be less than zero. Paramater name: start Index

Anyone happen to know what's wrong?

Yep. We were messing around one night and we just had a powder order, killed it without any problems (he does have a lot of HP tho).

Are GMs in this game willing to give a mis-lotted item to another player and if so how do I go about that? I mis-lotted an item and won it and would like it to go to another player instead. Does this count towards your "one item restore per account" this or is that a myth? How does it work exactly?

Felt like starting over after a 4 year or so break. Used my wife's unused Vana'07 collection to install. It doesn't come with WoTG, so I'm wondering if or what level that expansion is necessary for, since I'm starting fresh and all. Thanks!

As far as I know, no.

We had that happen one time, and the person wanted to give it back also, but the GM said no can do. If its an aby item, I wouldn't worry too much about it as you can always just kill it again.

If it was a BB item or some abj with a long wait list that never drops in ein, then that sucks.

Are -mdt and mdb calculated one after the other, ie 50%-mdt cuts damage taken by half, then 50mdb cuts the remaining damage by around half, for ~75% damage taken?
Or could you feasibly cut magic damage to 0 with enough mdb?

Yes mdt and mdb are seperate. However 50mdb wouldn't cut dmg in half anyways. It would only lower it by 1/3.

yeah I knew it wasn't a 1mdb to 1% but wasn't quiet sure what the actual % was.
So what total % would 50%-mdt and 22mdb actually cut damage by? Just wondering if its worth using all the mdb anyway

It's not really necessary at all, heck aht urhgan is barely necessary, right now people do Abyssea. Just depends on what you want to do. It's entirely possible to just do Abyssea, most people do that anyways.

How much exp and notes have ppl been getting from Campaign Battle after the change? I've been getting 15k exp and 5k IS from Besieged, but was thinking about giving Campaign a shot as well.

WoTG is wings of the goddess, it will be needed as it is required for abyssea. You are thinking of ToAU.

As for the original question, it will become needed as soon as you reach abyssea <as early as lv 30 but definitely post 75> or as early as you want to go into the past zones for missions i suppose?
