I've used Lesser Chigoes in Grauberg (S) for a bit. Usually rounds out to about a stack every 30min-1h depending on luck. I've pulled 3 from a single harvesting spot. If you have a pet job (BST worked great with Shasra or Lulush, just use their AOE ability and regain axe which I forgot the name of), I recommend it because of the agro from Chigoes. If not pet, then a job that can decently AOE. maybe not the fastest, but it's pretty reliable thus far.

Do you use HELM armor? I assume so... I thought I'd go give this a try then hit the AH and saw theres not a single piece of Workers or Field Armor in stock lol :X

I do, but it doesn't increase results, just lessens the amount of sickles that break. I've not done it without the HELM armor, but I only lose about 3-4 sickles per stack of chigoes. To clarify, that's individual sickles, not stacks of sickles. So maybe without you'd only lose 1 stack per 1 stack which (based on Bahamut economy) is about a 197k profit.

There's one other thing that sells decently per stack from HELM'ing there, but I can't remember what it is. I think it was around 10k a stack whereas the rest sat around 1-2k and would be better off tossed/NPC'd depending on your AH and bag spaces.

As dnc/sam in abyssea konshtat I can solo farm pretty safely about 4-5 dark rings per 2 hour run, however I have a prebuilt AE gearset and it significantly makes building amber light easier. The difference between trying to killshot marlboros with a 600 dmg ws vs a 1.6K dmg ws saves me a lot of time.

But if you want to try it, go thf/dnc or etc and equip standard combat atmas. Farm up a good 100+ pearl off T1 VNMs, then swap to AE build. You can camp most of the T1 VNMs near flux 2, but you may need to pop over to flux 4 to clear some stray ones before you camp flux 2.

Then swap to gales/ultimate/etc atmas and put on AE gear and kill marlboros with amber killshots. Stop farming amber as soon as you see a big chest drop. I find roughly 130~140 amber is plenty, its kind of iffy.

You want to mostly get little chests, if you're getting lots of big chests you've over done the amber.

Swap back to hardcore melee atmas and go kick the shit out of saplings for an hour and a half. Amass Dark rings, NPC, ???, PROFIT!

    Did it, It was enjoyable.

i think Burnock root was the item you were thinking of, I can NP it for ~8k a stack

Edit: Could also be Vegetable Seeds, which are 15k/stack

I know most people don't like sharing their secrets, otherwise they wouldn't be secrets, But I don't suppose someone could shoot me a PM on some decent things to farm?

I know Abyssea is an obvious answer but that really boils down to luck if you're going the brown-box route, and outside of that I don't have a Dual Box so I'm pretty much stuck as THF/NIN or THF/DNC for farming (Technically i have like 13 other jobs but I'd like TH).

Sorry to be "that guy" -.-, I'm just out of Ideas and FFXIAH browsing isn't helping.
Pop items. Tiger King Hides and Sisyphys Fragments all come down to luck from gold boxes, but if you can duo things like Bugol Noz or Audumbla, their drops are pretty common (even with WHM/THF+Dread) and are a lot more expensive than you might expect. Other pop items are fairly valuable, too. For instance, Transparent Insect Wings are 15k on my server. That may not sound like a lot, but when they move quickly because they're for empyrean weapon NMs, it adds up.

I see, I looked ,18k for the Wing... I could go THF/BLM, Kill, Warp, put on AH, go back, rince repeast in a relatively quick fashion... That would add up if they sell as fast as it looks.

While you're there may aswell farm the three gigas pop items aswell, they usually go for 20-30k each. Did it for a bit on THF, usually took me 15-20 mins to get all four to drop.

If you haven't done Limbus in a while, I know that people pay about 10k each for ABCs on Lakshmi. Most of the zones are pretty comfortably soloable now, and you can pick up any AF+1 you may be missing while you do it. To give you some idea how easy they are, I took the King Behemoth at the end of Kings down below 50% using nothing but Evisceration/hits to interrupt and deal with Meteor (and then he one-shotted me for 1400 because I was too lazy to toss Anrin Obi into my MDT gear before the fight). The whole zone took me about 30 minutes on Dancer, and I did the boss on each floor (duoing with my BRD mule for March/Minuet).

Yeah, the vegetable seeds. Not as much as the chigoes, but it's still extra cash and pretty brainless if you just want to do it while watching tv/movies or something.

I could second the harvesting route. The wife paid for a large chunk of her manteel back in the day with harvesting, back when they were going for ~13m. Not as fast as some other methods of getting gil, but mindless, and gives you a chance to watch tv/chat/etc while doing it.

Anyone knows how far back in time the item restoration goes? Before abyssea I tossed a wyrm beard I had in storage for years because "I'll never level mnk".
Of course my mnk is now 90 and only have about 700 KS

If I remember correctly, you'll only get 1 item restoration ever and will need to know approximately when you tossed it. I'm not sure what their "That's too long" threshold is.
I found these two support articles from SE:
    http://support.na.square-enix.com/fa...la=1&kid=12665
    http://support.na.square-enix.com/fa...la=1&kid=12792

Perhaps it may be best just to contact a GM?

In general they ask for the exact time and place you tossed it.

For trials that require you to perform an AoE WS "X" amount of times (not kills, just ws), will you get credit for every mob you hit or only red mobs count?

Only the one you target. It can be white, but only once per WS. Same for "X" WSs >400 damage.

I remember seeing this question before, but I couldn't find it after a quick search. Anyone have good 1-30 leveling advice? Possibly with a duo partner and a PL, but a good solo guide would be appreciated as well.

Page 4 in Bostaunieux (leeches). Park your lowbie at the H-10 book (with the book dialogue open, so sneak never wears), and go to town on the leeches downstairs. Did 10-30 in a few hours that way. As for 1-10, I just did some FoV outside Sandy.
