tried frogs, birds, and bats in coast. doing between 800-1.1k with beyond/gales/ultimate. Novio, hecates, loki's, thundersoul. Had a lot of issues with holding more than 5-6 though they hit for 80-150 dmg and pretty good acc with yonin up (doing this on nin) Looked back to page 41 and didnt see any real discussion of edge. any more advice?

Does haste gear only have to equipped at the beginning of the spell? aka put it on, start casting, then can I instantly switch out of it and still get the haste benefit?

Same thing for fast cast?

Haste and the recast reduction from Fast Cast only work if left on at the end of casting. Actual casting time requires Fast Cast to be placed precast.

My aeolians hit for around the same as NIN, and even weak mobs in vision zones do a lot of damage to my NIN unless fulltiming evas gear, but then my damage/tp gain drops to almost nothing. I personally suggest not cleaving on NIN solo(or even with a healer, your aoe damage alone is too weak), it's not very good imo.

My random question: How do daggers @ 90 rank, not counting emp, relic, or mythic. Str kila > twilight > angr harpe MH? Triplus > str kila > twilight offhand?

The only real point of cleaving on nin vs the other 5 jobs better at it is get some KIs on nin then be able to tank/get KIs from the ones that aren't chested after with your group. Solo is just kinda bleh

Well, frogs have MDB im pretty sure.

Ive seen NINs cleaving just fine with edge so not sure why you couldnt be able to do it. Should drop beyond for Smithing blow id assume or maybe thats just for brewing.

Ok thanks... do you happen to know if it works the same for BLU casting? Like do I have to keep all my str gear on until casting is over or can I switch halfway through?

It's the same for any spell. So for anything potency related I'd end in your str or whatever gear unless you just proccing

They got something for sure. I can one shot pretty much any other mob type in abyssea with CW but only got them to like 30% i think

Has anyone else noticed that seal NMs have a favoured seal drop, a highly unfavoured seal drop, and 2 meh in between drops?

For example, I noticed Audumbla and Avalerion both highly highly favour monk, dropping nearly twice as much of it over the others, whereas there will be another seal from x nm you'll almost never see.

I just did Audumbla and yeah by the time we were done everything but nin had dropped at least 9 and only 3 nin. I once did seps and didn't get a single rng seal after 20+ grellow proc'd kills. Needless to say at least 8 of everything else dropped. But then I've heard of the opposite happening etc.

Just random: the favored drop is always the least wanted.
Adumbla was mnk onry when I needed nin, nin onry when I needed thf and so on

It's called Variance

Even though you're expected to get even amounts, it's more likely that you will get uneven amounts. The common term for "variance" is luck.

This is similar to gambling. If you play a hundred hands of blackjack at $10 a piece, your expected loss should be around $50 at the end - but you're almost never going to hit that -50 perfectly...

Not counting Emp I'd probably say Str Kila/Triplus or Str Kilas/Oneiros. Maybe even Mantodea Harpe/TriplusorOneiros. It's really hard to do comparisons on daggers.. you can only say one combination is better than the other if it both gains tp faster and does more damage via DoT/SA/TA/WS.

Saw some discussion about doing pages at level 10 w/ a diff character killing leeches in bostaneaux(sp) and was wondering if it works w/ a lvl90 character because don't u have to get exp from the mob for it to count?
