I stopped the video and then turned it back on, the main NM was casting so I put on w legs and ran down the ramp. I went to rest but the others woke up and ran with the main NM to me so I didn't get any tick. That's when I used the med. This was done before the 2hr upgrade so you could probably just zerg it down really fast with 2hr after you get 100 tp for CDC, which you wouldn't need the wing. You don't need 2hr though. The main thing to watch for is his spells, gotta make sure you aren't doing anything while he is casting so you can stun it. That was my first time trying it so I had a bunch of mistakes. Should set Magic Barrier so you can negate some of the DMG from his spells to around ~300 with shell included from a 400+ Magic Barrier so it won't be a big deal if he gets it off.
Can Medusa be 4-manned? If so with what set-up?
I just recently did it with a pick up group. DNC solo held the adds pretty decently but they cast magic so careful to not get near them. I'd imagine DNC + RDM(or other back up healers, whm brd etc) for adds and dedicated tank + healer + DD can handle medusa. Cut a DD or a extra healer from that if you can't fit them in, should still be able to do it.
Edit: Or I'm sure you could just zerg it down with smn + brd + heavy DDX2
so i noticed Rancor Collars becoming popular, what does it do for you that is making it such a popular choice?
I haven't played since 07, so is the 5 Magic Damage from the new blue staves better than 50MAB from the level 90 mythic?
I don't think they are needed. I really only bring them along for first time solos because I don't know what to expect.
Search provided more WoW results than it did FFXI WS and I know I've seen this answered:
Cataclysm atmas for cleaving as MNK:
I have Plutos, Artemis, moldy, rani earring as my only gear (Anything else I can add?)
When I used Smiting, Ultimate, and Beyond I had ~2000 (but that was 300%).
When I used Smiting, Cosmos, Griffin's Claw I did 900 at 300% on a Limule and on Pixies in LTT. Should I use Ultimate in place of GC? Did I do it wrong? Resists? These were non-ascetics.
Uh, pixies resist magic damage, don't cata them.
Smithing blow/Cosmos/Ultimate are the best atma setups, griffin claw is only for brewing.
My setup that I use for Cata:
Pluto/1int grip/phantom tathlum
Maat's cap/artemis(lazy)/novio/hecate
osode/nothing/int+7x2
nothing/sanctuary obi/nothing/nothing
I don't suppose anyone has found out what the exact mods for cataclysm are yet? Or if there's another stat besides int for it? The int gear available for monk is somewhat... lacking.
Thanks for clearing that up. I felt that Griffin's Claw felt pretty lackluster.
What's the highest Crit Hit Rate+ that can be gotten on Wivre Gorgets?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't MAB+50 increase damage more than Affinity Dmg+5 unless you have at least 67MAB already? And if including atmas, is the elemental attack+30 the same as affinity dmg+5 or is it multiplied separately. If it's added together using something like Binding Horn would mean you'd need at least 115MAB already for the 50MAB to be worse.
edit: Forgot that blm has a mab trait so they can easily hit 67mab outside abyssea.. I don't know blm atma choices but they'd they could probably hit it with gear and beyond. Sucks to be that stave. D:
That's all correct, I think, and affinities are added (Atma give affinity). I did some math for it here part way down the page.
All math I remember doing showed Laevateinn as better than staves on (if I'm remembering this correctly) upper T3, T4 and lower T5, with the exception of during weather or certain atma conditions in Abyssea. I deleted that spreadsheet months ago, though..and I don't use Black Mage enough to care to re go through everything.
