Type of spell shouldn't matter at all in a comparison of Affinity to MAB. The math for it is just:
(Y+.3)*X = (X+.5)*Y
Y is staffless affinity. X is staffless MAB.

If Y is 1.3 to start with (using an Atma in Abyssea), then X needs to be less than 217 (+81 MAB over base with traits) for Laev to be better.
If Y is 1 to start with (no Atma, outside Abyssea), then X needs to be less than 167 (+31 MAB over base with traits) for Laev to be better.

If Y is 1.5 to start with (Undying and Beyond in Abyssea), then X needs to be less than 250 (+114 MAB over base with traits) for Laev to be better.

I'm pretty sure that you can hit 31 MAB using level 75 gear and Abyssea Atma make the MAB gap a non-issue, so Affinity staves are better. Heck, Beyond + Ultimate and you're already at 80 of the 81 MAB you need to make an Affinity staff better than Laev.

To be honest, it very well could have been scars and 85 (or even visions/80 for that matter >.>) cap.. whatever I ended up with, my rationale was that it was only so insignificantly better that the only benefit would have been inventory space. But that's not even a good argument any more, because all Black Mage gear can just be stored now because you don't need inventory space for procs.

Abjuration drop rate is fairly decent from what I've seen the last month or two. Good abjurations are a different story though.

As long as they POL ids are different you can have x accounts tied to the same SEID and log in on each one at the same time.

To consider when comparing Laev to magian+2's - even if by some chance laev becomes better, unless you want a mythic for your good but not incredible job, you'll want +2 staves anyway for the -cast time.

Starting cast in something like

+2/--/--/--
AF3+2/--/--/--
Anhur/--/--/--
--/--/--/--

is ~30% (Elemental Celerity) + 15% (/RDM) + 12% Staff + 12% Hat + 10% Anhur = 79% Casting time reduction. Given that cap is 80%, could add something like vivid or loq. for that last 1%

Edit: I don't see any realistic testing on ele celerity %, will look into that later today.

Abjuration drop rate is fairly decent from what I've seen the last month or two. Good abjurations are a different story though.

Nlegs are actually one of the abjurations that I have seen more than others in T1-T3. I've never seen a body from T1-T3 so I'm not sure if those can drop outside of Odin at all, but I think that the rest of the abjurations have a somewhat equal chance of dropping, maybe skewed a little bit towards H&P if anything.

iirc SS > Apoc for DNC if using Saber Dance. THF, eh, set bonus + Triplus may mess with that a bit but I'm honestly not sure plus Oneiros seems like a competitive DD offhand to me at 10% critdmg. SS is close to Apoc for NIN but Apoc is still better, and for what it's worth A&O tends to beat Apoc if you're making use of the 50 attack. I don't think it does for other jobs (potentially moreso that you should be using both rather than one or the other).

I think Byrth was saying Set Bonus is a separate 5% (Maybe 10% with NIN data?) proc rate from traditional TA unless that's what you meant.

Do you lose an additional Campaign Medal by switching from Sandy to Windy if your 1st nation was Windy? Or is it universal 1 medal lost per nation change regardless of which was 1st, 2nd, etc?
