Sort of a vague question, but does anyone have gear advice for an apocalypse DRK tanking set (outside of abyssea for stuff like Voidwatch)? Equipment wise, am I better off just going straight dmg or should I be trying a hybrid combo of defense and melee?

Chainspell bastion. It's awesome. Then get 2 hr boxes and chainspell more.

80% is the new Fast Cast floor, I think.

On RDM my spells never cast faster than 20% into the bar(80% fast cast?) with celerity/alacrity. Without them my spells cast at about 30-35%ish, I think 30%.

I've never tried chainspelling bastion, although I might now.
As WHM (with a good PDT set up) you can diaga the waves as they come in and hold them by yourself. Any time I got low on MP I'd use Spirit Taker (Terra's Staff equipped). I did have some problems with spell interruption, though, and you need to cast an area spell periodically to hold hate or they'll lose interest.

Late but do cataclysm if you don't care about +2 items, quartermaster person obtaining scales. (3 dragua at once) Cata should still be one of the best, if not the best non wildfire WS though if not AOE killing? Was doing around 25k on mnk/rdm without even using banisher over ultimate.

I think it was shown before that going off the bar is a bad way to try and determine fastcast, cure cast time, etc.

Yes, he'll cast agas on himself and level up. He casts as soon as you pop him, if he fulms at the start then you didn't stun his initial spell when you popped him.

Yeah, it was 2am and I had brewed the previous, so I just told him to pop because I had to wake up in a couple hours, dunno what happened, just said it used fulmination, although we never noticed it NOT casting on anyone besides the popper when it's popped, low sample size etc.

Ga's can make it fulm, yea. We stunned everything it tried to cast after learning that. Also, I experienced it using fulmination with no leveling once in an entire Kannagi and a bit of an Almace. I think it is just a really really small chance to use it.

Do you know whether or not the -Ga is targetted to Apada or the players? Like I said I had filters, plus dual box fucked up my logs. If it casts on itself, does it hit members of the fighting alliance as well? Thanks again.

Thanks, did a few with AE with meh results. Gonna dual box brew some tonight. Put mule on SAM, Amber farm KI on main, drag to mule, brew kill, rinse repeat, keep mule locked on flux 4 between pulls. Seems like a good way to spam without needing 6 others.

I'm pretty sure he does both. I think if he targets a player with an aga you are fine, but if he targets himself he will level up, and nearby players still get hit with the aga too.

Sword to use for atonement: OA2-4, OAT, WSDMG +10%, something else? Would only use on high level/defense things where CDC sucks. Is there one that's considerably better?
