Not sure how much this helps. I'm currently living in North Jersey, Bergen County, about 15 minutes from the GWB and NYC. My brother DJ's at a bar in Hoboken (not your typical house/top 40 shit, mostly indie rock and other less mainstream shit) but he'd certainly be able to get us a hook up in there. Otherwise, I know several local "townie" bars in the area where I know the bartenders, and I can make sure everyone has a righteous night that is cost effective. I know plenty of cool bars and shit to go in manhattan, but those are going to be more expensive and I'm not real close with any of the bartenders over there.
Damn, I really hope to go! Ya'll should just come down to Miami and just hit up South Beach... yes... yes you should.
Needs to be moved to Chicago, SW NY, WV, or TN.
TN would make it a pretty even trek for most people
other than the ragnadians though
Fuuuuu~
Best Coast please.
I understand the whole wanting to rent out a whole room or whatever, but what about renting out a park with a BBQ pit and wood awning and shit? Can get a real nice setup there. The only thing would be transportation afterwards, wouldn't want a bunch of drunks driving around and shit. But those Parks you can rent out for minimal fees, we can bring all of our own food, drink, etc. and go from there. Just a thought.
Edit: I guess it also matters WHEN it is. Cause you can't do the whole BBQ thing in late fall/winter obv.
Find a park with a playground nearby too. Nothing funnier than a bunch of drunks on the monkey bars. Considering it's the summertime, if you're planning this soon that sounds like a better option(the park thing). Just get a big tent or something I suppose incase it rains that day.
Park Rangers would shut down this shit in a minute.
I can look around Atlanta for some stuff. Just how big of a venue are we talking here? 30 people? 50? I can ask a few friends who work in the entertainment and advertising paths for anything they've done too.
Theres a plethora of hotels and conference space and stuff in Atlanta and around Lenox/Buckhead.
Not really. I was at a park this weekend in Harrison, (Westchester NY) and there was a HUGE ass BBQ. Was for this guys 40th. The rented out the area which includes the wood "coverall" (can't think of the word) like a big as area covered by wood lol. With a BBQ pit, tons of tables, place for the kids to run around, etc. All the park cares about is getting paid for the day. They had a DJ and a licensed bartender. Was a great time. Something like that. BBQ'ing and food is relatively cheap as long as everybody chipped in and brought shit, or a couple people had the master shopping list and people brought shit as they came. I'm sure with all the people going, there has to be a cook or two, that can do grill duty. People can also bring a dish or whatever.
FUCK ATL, NY ONRY
you know, a poll might be a cool idea right now
No hookup per say but there's a great Korean BBQ place near Atlanta with HQ AYCE for $20. You get what you pay for compared to $6 Asian buffets.
I feel sorry for any place stupid enough to accommodate the fucking nutcases that frequent this board, especially if they're going to get drunk off their asses. Woe be unto them...
P.S. Sucks this is an East Coast thing, but owell. Drink a Heineken and punch a baby for me.
i live in atlanta, might know a few people/places, have to check and see
I know a bunch of super cheap places, but generally you get what you pay for. With a sufficiently large party most restaurants can be pretty accommodating. I was throwing out a place where I know the food should go well with everyone and is pretty reasonable given the menu and it being AYCE
lol east coast
