Also, the "Resist!" thing that's been in the game forever...did they change it so you get "Resist!" now if you resist a spell without a Job Trait? Heqet cast Addle and I got a "Resist! Evilpaul resists.." message. NIN90/DNC45, so I don't see why?

Saw one unverified report of them being from GoV.

Could mean an NPC sells 'em too.

I've checked Conquest, IS, AN, and Voidwatch NPCs; Galka PUP office in Whitegate; Rat Auto Part vendor in Nashmau; PUP Maat in Bastok; and the new vendor NPC in Bastok; Alchemy recipe list <60; and Goldsmithing <50...all nothing. I guess Tenshodo or Selbina/Mhuara are possiblities, but if these are GoV only it's really fucking annoying.

Yeah, he killed Tammuz normally. He was actually disappointed as he planned on joining in on the undead shenanigans after he was done with Tammuz and then maint happened like 2-3 mins after his last kill. He was talking about pulling an all-nighter to get all his lowbie jobs levelled, I was planning on doing the same with him (We're both in the UK)

Ok so if I never had that installed from downloading off the windower forums, I shouldn't have an issue? I downloaded the font change ages ago with the custom icons from http://emikoffxi.livejournal.com/ along with the self install program for the .dat changes but haven't update it since I got in in 09 when the last update was applied.

Got the .dat for the little blm background from there? I'm a bit nervous about blowing my xi copy up because of the last time i tried to use that old thing. It was my favourite background.

I think I do, just would have to figure out what .dat number it actually is. I have a folder for the backup original files and then the ones it changes that the installer uses to change. I never used the black background though, or any of the special ones for that matter. I'll check and let you know.

Those look like the mantis from FFXII and I wouldn't be surprised if they cannibalize eachother to increase their level like they did in that title.

Bonus points if the mob eats a player to level up.

Nope, it's a BLU spell, it has the Blue magic casting animation. Dark Mist if I'm not mistaken.
