People are too harsh on Netflix's streaming content. Sure the movies suck, but the TV shows are great. God knows I NEVER would've bothered to start Mad Men if it wasn't on Netflix.

Television series are the only reason to pay for Netflix streaming. However, once you've caught up to that library, you're better off canceling your shit and pirating the latest episodes as they can take a while to ever pop up there if you're itching to see a newer episode.

Fucking sucks, they essentially bankrupt all the competition and then raise the price 50%. I was trying to do the right thing at least part of the time, but fuck it I'll ditch them and pay an extra 10 bucks for better bandwidth for my illegal shit.

can't decide which we want, so we'll probably stick to both for now. We definitely use the streaming a lot, but getting the DVds is awesome for the random times we want to really watch something that isn't streamed.

I don't even understand the DVD option tbh. You mail something in and wait like 4 days for the movie you want to watch right now to arrive?

we tend to use it for movies we never got around to watching. next on our list is the three ocean eleven movies (saw the first, never got around to the other two). So it's usually not "omg I want to see nao" things.

They're offering two plans so that when their current licensing agreement with studios expire, they can show numbers to the tune of 'look at the % of users who refuse to pay more for streaming access' as strong leverage against any substantial price hikes. Numbers thrown around include Netflix having to pay 5x-10x more for the same streaming rights they enjoy right now, the draconian 4 month wait for new DVD releases notwithstanding.

Fiance just got this in her email, changed it to steaming only for now. Probably will cancel the entire fucking thing though as most of their streaming has been absolute shit lately with only B horror movies added every like 3 weeks or more.

Unfortunately there isn't any better alternatives. as shitty as Netflix stream movies can be the alternatives like Hulu+ is even worse.

Can't really blame them either the Studios want to milk every single dime out of DVD sales they can.

I instantly looked at this and said I'll be doing streaming only for the old TV shows. I'll just torrent the movies that are DVD onry when the time comes. And seriously, there should be a combo pack for people who want it.
