Boycott.
Boycott.
fuck the haters, i'm in.
Looks more horror then comedy. Donotwant.
The first one wasn't all that comedic though. It has it's cheesy elements because it was low budget, but it was more just fast paced and really gory.
Yeah because when the girl got raped by the fucking trees that was totally comedic...
I'm seriously wondering what Evil Dead you guys watched. They didn't even lay it on thick comedy-wise till Army of Darkness to be perfectly honest.
I'm in for this remake, will be a good horror flick.
edit; at least IMHO
Evil Dead 1 = 80% Horror with minor comedy from low budget
Evil Dead 2 = 50/50 leaning a bit more on the Comedy side
Army of Darkness = 80% Comedy with nearly no Horror aspects.
Evil Dead was unintentionally cheesy as fuck and the next two movies were created as a kind of homage to that. Honestly, ED is popular because of how bad it was.
I find that ED is pretty unpopular
I rather them try to make it full on horror movie rather than try to make it funny. Bruce Campbell said that the reason they were funny was because how bad of actors they all were. It's not something you can recreate.
^ this. While the first ED tried to take itself seriously it was still funny because of how cheesy it was, so they started to run with it for the second ED and, obviously, AoD. And lets be honest, ED really got it's cult following from AoD. If didn't continnue the trend, then this just ends up being another shitty horror flick that no one will remember.
Also, bruce with a chainsaw hand = awesome; random chick with a chainsaw hand =creepy.
Better quality trailer's out.
<redacted>
Without Sam Raimi directing I'm really not sure if want.
Trailer looks decent. Not gonna occupy the same place as the original but whatever. Can't really beat AoD though.

Edit: Ok BG![]()
I get that it was unintentionally cheesy, and that's why so many people loved it, but I don't get how people are so shocked that a new director is just trying to take the original premise and work with it. Evil Dead might have evolved into a comedy but I think it did a decent job as a horror flick. Cheesy effects/costumes and whatnot aside, I'll always remember being legitimately creeped out by Evil Dead when I first watched it, and I hope this director at least makes a decent horror flick.
And for the record, I do love Army of Darkness and what Evil Dead changed into lol
ED was the first documented case of tree to human love making.
This movie reminds me that some people think Green Day penned "Working Class Hero," Orgy "Blue Monday," and Nirvana "Man Who Sold The World." Not everything needs to get remade. Especially things pretty much perfect to begin with.
this actually looks pretty legit as a horror movie
This looks like what the original Evil dead couldn't be due to the limitations of technology at the time. Straight up horror. Not exactly what I expect out of an Evil Dead movie, but I guess if I just go in for a horror movie it might be okay/good.
