Some people overlook the Double Attack -5%, it'a a huge penalty on it making it really only useful for WS with capped hits (Asuran/maybe Hexa), MS/Rudra's with Assassin's charge, and maybe stuff like Namas Arrow.

Might be useful for evisceration too. A single TA proc would cap you hits and the att is huge. And you might not be capped fstr on VW mobs

UF: Avant+1 beats emp pretty much anywhere from what I can tell, for hands if acc capped Augmented Heca+1 > Heafoc > Warrior's+2 > Avant+1 > Rav+2, and Emp+2/Avant are fairly equal if acc uncapped and you benefit from all of it from what I can tell.

TP: Personally I think Portus Collar (ravager's neck if you don't have)/Atheling should be better/ fairly equal, however Rancor/Atheling seems like the better option versus anything with Rancor back during TP.

Here's a quickie: Does 5/5 Suljin Spiral ever do good damage on MobsthatMatter for PUP? I'd like to know before sinking some gil into my current DEX set.

It's better than SP on easy stuff (Dynamis mobs go here), and very close to SP, but still below, on VW etc stuff.

I believe it depends on how much DEX you have and how close you are to capping dDEX.

If you already have about +30-37 DEX over the mobs AGI, then hitting the dDEX cap would give a higher Crit+% rate then Leonine will give. I don't do VW so I don't know if capping dDEX is even viable on those mobs. If so then yeah, Ocelomeh +1 should win it. If dDEX is already capped, then Leonine will give you that 3% crit rate on top of the 15% capped dDEX crit rate, that you want to fend off those really annoying non crit Hi's.

I'd want it for the 2hp/tick regen anyway. And to look like a native American.

as for TP, I was told to use Goading belt in place of Twilight from somebody. I don't remember who, but I don't see this as being true - but this is my current aspiration (the only piece im missing is usukane sune-ate i guess)
The pieces I'm iffy on is Iga Erimaki, is there something better? I imagine there is... I avoid using rancor collar for anything TP though, Tarutaru HP sometimes makes some hairy situations. . . Though I'd probably use it if I was in a situation where I'd be unlikely to take direct damage. but that doesnt really happen in VW.

edit: and one final thought (i've edited this like 3 times now), has Koga Chainmail +2 been proven any use over Iga or Ninja? I heard that the DW rate was only 3% on testing. and yet I think in the future it may become the best if they ever do decide to add a final DW... we only need 2%!

I only want to make one magian polearm for my DRG, which one would do best? STR/Attack, OAT or WSDMG? Pretty much the best DRG in my ls says he loves his OAT polearm like no tomorrow, but I feel like I'd get better mileage out of a STR/Attack.

It's nigh impossible to 5 hit a STR lance, and trivial to do so with OaT.

That'd make it comparable even if the OaT *didn't* have a ~40% higher attack rate/ WS frequency.

I wouldn't call it "trivial". You're limited to WSing in AF3+2 Body and one of Hagneia/Thew and still require 3hits to land unless you want to use Hyoui's Gorget (As well as Rose/Hagneia/Brutal/AF3 Body/Tyrant/Rajas) over Rancor Collar for TP.

Houyi's gorget is quite trivial to get, I don't know anyone who has done a good amount of Qilin and hasn't gotten at least 5. You can also knock off tyrant's ring for hoard ring if you are cheap. Not that 6.5m is exactly difficult for anyone in this game to get in the days of solo dynamis and chocobo blinkers.

I guess we differ on how we define trivial. I see trivial as = simple with little to no effort, and wouldn't classify solo farming dynamis, or farming cruor (4-4.5mil for 6.5m gil) purely for the gil for them as such. I do agree on Hyoui's (however it is a VW drop, so you could still get fucked over) for the most part.
