What's Better?

Sam always has and always will be one of the top DDs. Amano really is a powerful weapon and is pretty much untouched by any GK besides mythic at this point. 95 Gungnir as said can be rivaled with a oat weapon. At 99 this changes id assume. But in terms of usefulness i would go with Amano imho. I have no regrets making Gungnir but ive been drg <3 since day one. I have 2 Amanos in my ls one at 99 and one at 95, and they rip stuff apart.

I thought as far as GKT go, Masa was better then Amano. I could be wrong, I'll dig around for the post when I get out of class.

Shit is situational, there is much content in which 99 kaiten will beat shoha/fudo, as well as not always being able to fulltime aftermath. Excluding the few instances in which the acc is of value, such as T6 VW, or certain THF mobs.

99 Mercy if Stacked, Exenterator otherwise. Couldn't give you Optimal sets on them though.

There are some things I obviously need to work on like the earrings (jupiter's for both?) and a crit rate augment for byakko's haidate. If anyone could link me to an optimal set, I'd greatly appreciate it.

So far, as RNG/SAM in VW I've been rather unimpressed by the damage. I've been seeing around 1k-1.4k depending on mob, occasionally higher (no chaos roll). Granted, I was being cheap and not using RCBs since it was just easy shit like Qilin. I'm guessing I should go /war for berserk, yes?

Thanks. Also, any idea if Bellona's Ring would be better than Thundersoul? I'm wondering if I have enough R.Acc. for fights like Ig-Alima given that my COR still misses quite a bit on that fight with Marksmanship merits, sushi, and stalwart's.

Neck/Back combo-- Rancor/Atheling is out done by Elemental Gorget/Rancorous Mantle?
Legs-- (not looking for VW items) AF2+2 or Avant +1? I feel Avant will win, and is fine as I dont want to farm Beaucidine.
Waist-- Beir+1 or the gorget belt or something else?
Hands-- No idea but feel Emp +2 work
Head-- Emp+2 I hear wins over Twilight, but want to make sure. Any other options appreciated

1. Gorget/Rancorous is better
2. Use Avant+1 (Relic+2 with augment is better during WC iirc as it adds +5 crit rate with 5/5 WC)
3. Windbuffet Belt if you don't need accuracy, Elebelt if you do.
3. Hecatomb+1 with crit damage augment (preferrably +4, +3 with some +str is also good). Otherwise Heafoc if you don't have accuracy issues, Avant+1 if you do.
4. Mekira-oto+1 wins during days matching Ukko's SC properties (Light, Wind, Thunder) and I believe is slightly ahead with BR up. Don't use Twilight.

You should be using Mekira-oto +1 when berserk is up, or when days are active, otherwise use Ravager's Mask +2.

Hows does berserk make Mekira+1 better than AF3+2 Mask? Wouldn't the extra attack of Mekira+1 be diminished by Berserk?

OAT is pretty competitive, considering how much easier it is to make. I would be unsurprised if a 99 OAT beats a 95 Gungnir in almost any Acc-capped situation.

Even in VW with misers/discipline, dusty wings, etc?

Just FYI, there is no crit rate augment on Byakko's Haidate. The one you're thinking of is critical hit damage, and you can get up to 4%. Seiryu's Kote can get critical hit rate, up to 3%.

Super evasive mobs (no good examples in game that I can think of)Amano99

SAM in general doesn't have much of an ACC problem even on t6 mobs thanks to excellent TP options and 60%+ zanshin procs.

If you could just up and pick one, Masa99 would be ideal for 95% of the game where it matters. Ofcourse 99emps aren't easy to come by but 99Relics are. I haven't even seen a SS of a 99Masa but tons of 99Amanos floating around. The difference between them isn't much and one is much easier to get then the other.
