I threw this out in a thead at AH for CDC as well but Anguinus/Gorget/Belt all work really well for CDC in most Hero's/VW/T3 Ein/Dyna mobs etc because of your awesome sword skill.
What's a better WS body for LS- Mirke With MAB+4 or Denali body?
Drg polearm..
IS the Oat polearm best w/o question as i am told? particularly for outside of aby and considering the upcoming stats we have seen on the magian trials for 95.
additionally what would come next after Oat? looking to see if i have time to upgrade to anything better then empousa's polearm
In terms of outside of Abyssea, what stats take priority on Wildfire? Does AGI still come first in the rudimentary 2AGI=1MAB, or will MAB pull ahead due to the lack of buffs? What about Quick Draw? Essentially looking to see we if need to bother cleaving 2 MAB+3 rings for a friend of mine or if his AGI+7 rings are going to be king no matter what.
Out of these three sets, which would be better to TP in?
4/5 Tantra+2, Usu boots, brown belt
4/5 Tantra+2 Fuma Kyahan, Twilight Belt
5/5 Tantra+2 Brown Belt.
Isn't Loki's better to TP in if Impetus is down? (Sorry I know that's not the answer to your question)
Since coming back to play after being away for 2.5 years, I'm completely out of the loop regarding gear. Would it be reasonable to format the first post or create a new post with some sort of gear outline to help returning or new players determine what is "Good - Better - Best" for each slot? I'm sure most of it is still situational but I feel so lost while trying to re-equip my character.
Really something like would probably need it's own topic with several posts for each job. Stuff is going to vary depending on inside/outside abyssea/songs/buffs/etc. Usually the best place I find to start with getting gear, is try to find someone in the community who is pretty well rounded with their job (Yugl/Nightfyre for BLU, Byrth for DNC, etc) and get an XML from them. That gives a pretty good start with at least what you should be look to AIM for, and usually gives you an idea of what stats you'll need to aim for and you can downgrade from there. You can also look at people's item sets on XIAH as long as they appaer to be relevant. Some things might throw you off such as Abjs in sets that may not look right, but that's probably because they can be augmented with Synergy now.
PMs are usually my best friend when getting started anew, or simply leveling a new job. That's how I've picked up a lot of XMLs/gear advice/strategies.
I've got a decent amount of XMLs I've written/frankensteined as well as a few others I've picked up over the months from other people. If there's a specific job in particular you're looking for I may be able to send you one depending. Yugl's got a pretty advanced XML he's been working on, but I'm not sure if it's finished yet. I'm too scared to touch it atm though :E
I'm looking for War, Thf, Nin, and Blm for now. I would like to get those caught up for the time being.
I am accidentally at 25/30 Coins of Decay while trying to get coins for other jobs.
5-hit Hiradennotachi +2 or the 5-hit TP Bonus Keitonotachi I already have? DRK is level 22 but I might level it to screw around with Torcleaver if Gimpyrean Fudo isn't worth it over Hagun 2.0 Gekko.
EDIT: To clarify, I don't doubt Hira is better; I'm just wondering how much, because I've seen exactly one of them on a guy about 9 months ago and, in turn, I saw him actually use Fudo with it once.
Outside of Abyssea which is a better DD/generally more useful out of MNK and SAM? With and without emps/relics but capped gear otherwise.
Inside abby, Blade:Hi head:
Current: Bersail Cap - 8 Agi
Choice 1:Anwig Salade - STR+4 Weapon Skill Accuracy +15 AGI+4 Increases weapon skill damage (+2%)
Choice 2:Anwig Salade - AGI+4 Increases weapon skill damage (+2%) DEX+4 Increases Critical Hit Damage (+2%)
In my mind #2 wins, I just see everyone else going for #1, not seeing a need for acc and 4 str is not going to do much for me.
Ryunohige should triumph over OAT in situations where you can consistently TP. Rhongomiant is thought to be triumph over OAT in situations where you can build 300% TP prior and maintain aftermath, but the work done to show this excluded 5 v 6 hit builds if I recall correctly. Other than those exceptions, OAT should be superior.
Counting the 15% bonus to drakesbane on ryunohige? Don't really see anything comparing to it if you can maintain aftermath most of the time.
And what about it's effects on jumps? Thought they were still working out how the higher tiers effect it
