Really? Maybe in a situation where that STR+5 bumps you up a fSTR tier, but even then I figure it would be a very minimal superiority, Anguinus still looks like a very very good option even at capped accuracy, especially for DNC which doesn't really get very high amounts of attack normally.

... 5 STR *always* increases fSTR by at least one, if you aren't capped. 12-13 attack (what you gain from Ang) is ~ 2% attack boost on 600 attack, which is more or less a 2% damage boost for a reasonable range of cRatio 1% DA is ~.4% damage without Saber dance up, and ~.35% with 5 STR and 5 AGI is a minimum of 5 base damage. From 180 AGI and a 55 damage (weapon+fSTR), that gives ~2.4% base damage from crudelis.

So, best case scenario for Anguinus (Saber dance down, only 5 base damage from Crudelis), it ties. If you have saber dance up, or crudelis is giving 6 or 7 base damage (which it will 45% of the time) Crud wins.

Ang *might* win on high VW stuff, where level correction craps out your cRatio but at that point, DNC isn't there for damage anyway.

Sha'ir has +2% song casting speed, used to be more expensive but atm costs more or less like Praeco.
For the same or very close prices, any reason I should aim for Praeco instead of Sha'ir?
Is there a cap for -song casting time?
Please consider that the +15 stats on Praeco would be kinda useless to me, I use Heka's Kalasiris for Stoneskin and Cures and I like Aoidos' hongreline +2 better for debuffs.

To me it looks like Sha'ir is better and I should make haste getting one while the price stays down, but wanted to ask for guidance from people wiser than me.

I personally think sha'ir is better. Benefit of +2 body is really nice with extended durations. I doubt 15 chr and 5 macc would some how be better than CHR+10, Singing skill +10 and Wind instrument skill +10. I'm no expert on brd macc but it'd have to be rather odd to have Praeco win.

Casting time reduction cap is 80% This is a hard cap on all spells, not just songs so if you aren't hitting it then you're still getting a benefit out of sha'ir.

Mathed it out over on FFXI. If your ACC with Heafoc is 93.1% or greater they are better then Avant+1. If ACC is below 93.1% then Avant+1 pulls ahead.

Atmacite of Latitude or Atmacite of Coercion as 2nd atma?
Would stick to regain but somehow it feels like Moonshade. Coercion has better dmg stats but haste+3% would make me free up some slots to make up for it and new WSs are pretty heavily influenced by tp, though the dusty wing has another word in this.

Job dependant surely. On Corsair I wouldn't give up regain. With tacticians, drink and coercion I regain a shot's worth of TP in the time it takes me to fire a shot if it's a decent roll (which is usually is).

For precast, it's worthless. Like it was already brought out, Sha'ir Manteel still wins for casting time.

For debuffs, it's still pretty worthless. Praeco has only about 12~13 total MAcc. AF3+2 Body has 25~, assuming you're using a Wind Instrument. Even without the Wind skill (because you're using a Stringed Instrument for some reason) taken into account, it still wins by 2~3 MAcc.

Only use I see in it is the insane amount of CHR for waltzing others on /DNC maybe?

sry as i am sure this has been asked a bunch by now:
with a caladbolg is resolution worth not meriting another WS(as in giving up something else)? so far going by another decently geared calad drk, the numbers have been all but impressive(yes 5/5 on resolution), especially when the mob gets on the higher end of def.
note: i am asking specifically when using calad, however i would be interested to know some dmg difference with other GSW compared to calad if anyone has, or at least some links or something

again sry for the noob question, just looking for some smarter insight then my own on this so i know what to shoot for.

Yeah but wanted to make sure.
In the end I got a Sha'ir for 500k which is the same price as Praeco. Altough eventually the market will run out of Sha'ir (nobody will make more when they sell for 500k and a cashmere sells for 2 mils...) while Praeco will probably go further down.
I only use Sha'ir for precast, I idle in Heka's and cast songs in Aoidos.
Dunno, I feel happy even if it's clearly just a very minor upgrade for my BRD ^^'
