I've got a long road trip ahead of me and seeing as I will not be doing the driving I'm going to be using my wife's DS. All she has is Mario Kart and shit like Brain Age. I need an RPG that I'm not going to breeze through to keep myself occupied.

Radiant Historia
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor, Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey, DQ 4/5/6, The world ends with you. Also not RPG but I recommend Phoenix Wright games and Professor Layton games, both are one of my favorite series.
Seconded on Radiant Historia. Amazing game that very few people seem to have heard about. Can't go wrong with DQ4/5/6 or the FF3/4 remakes either. Four Heroes of Light was okay too, and if you have a flash drive Tales of Innocence has a really good fan translation out. The Lufia 2 remake was good if you like action RPGs, but it is a lot different than the original.
Final Fantasy Tactics A2 is pretty damn good or Disgaea DS
The DS version of FFIV is very well done.
Can't go wrong with Dragon Quest? Can't go wrong with FF3 remake?
What am I reading?
Also, Pokemon?![]()
Pokemon is always addictive if you're at least a little bit into it. I got Dragon Quest 9 for an RPG for DS, not bad IMO.
Ah, thanks for reminding me to eventually get Radiant Historia. My poor neglected DSi might get some use again.
I just bought Valkyrie Profile Covenant of the Plume and it's pretty enjoyable so far.
This. Its also very challenging when you get towards the end. I hadn't experienced that tough of a final dungeon in a long, long time.
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 2 is pretty good if you're looking to soak up a lot of hours customizing, and the plot actually gets pretty good towards the end. I was surprised.
Golden Sun: Dark Dawn is also pretty good if you enjoyed the GBA GS games. Tho, the GBA games are much better.
Radiant Historia looks neat, I'll try it out. Also, has anyone played the GBA and DS versions of FFIV? FFWiki says the game was made harder and some of the dungeons were removed - The harder difficulty is welcome as I don't think anything in the game was that hard (I played the GBA version), but a good deal of the appeal of the game were the optional dungeons, and it's sounding like the endgame dungeons were removed. Anyone know why?
Luminous Arc.
Knights in the Nightmare and Super Robot Taisen OG Saga Endless Frontier.
The DS version overall is much more difficult. It more than makes up for losing the Lunar Dungeon from FF4A which, as far as post-game content goes, is pretty easy. The DS version has 2 optional bosses which I remember were quite difficult. It's been a while since I played, but I remember farming 5 Adamant Armors in order to beat them. It also had a lot more character customization thru the augment system, but this required multiple playthroughs using New Game +.
Overall, if you enjoyed the original version(s) of FF4, I'd definitely give FF4DS a try.
Is there any other good co op RPGs for DS past PS0?
The only thing I can think of that comes to mind are vs. with TRPGs.
