HOLY FUCK THIS MOVIE WAS AWESOME.
Probably the worst marketing campaign for any film since Hugo. Grossly underserved by the advertising.
Go.
Go see it this weekend. Take friends. It's a goddamn great popcorn action adventure flick.
^1000x this
Well there goes my saturday night.
I find it funny that I ignore the good reviews of a movie until someone here reports back on how it was lol.
GET IN LINE BRO
>: ( hubby's company did the 3-D for this one and they are having a free showing tonight for the workers/guests, but we don't get to go see it because retardedly they had a bunch of their employees work this weekend (including hubby) making it so many wouldn't be able to go to the showtime....HOW DOES THAT MAKE ANY SENSE?!
Is it good with dialogue/plot as well, it will I be rolling my eyes and fighting to contain my laughter anytime Jesus isn't slaying aliens?
Some very cheesy writing at parts, but overall a good movie.
That's too bad. I can appreciate a solid action movie just for the visuals, but it really helps a lot if I'm not vacillating between technical amazement and laughter.
It's Edgar Rice Burroughs and his Barsoom books are the stuff you'd find in the 'Young Adult' section of your local public library. You're not going to get a lot of stimulating philosophical discourse but a lot of the laughter from the film isn't unintentional. When quizzed my friend who has read every book said the changes were for the better, despite the unshakable superficiality of the source material.
Haven't read any of the books but I saw this today and it was badass, didn't notice anything with the 3d, but some really cool fighting scenes. Dialogue could have been better, but it was Disney, oh well.
We want to go see it, but doh do I hate going to 3D movies (crappy cinema/glasses here)
Yeah, if the movies are in 3D that's usually the only option I get in my city. They don't show 2Ds in such cases :<
Movie was solid, that was one long fucking wedding though
Saw it, enjoyed it. I didn't think it was anything groundbreaking or truly amazing, but it was a solid film, and I would recommend it to fans of the genre. Normal people I know have enjoyed it as well.
