Just a fake trailer =(
Just a fake trailer =(
While the trailer was fake, they actually did announce 6 later on.
In what way is Resident Evil 3: Nemesis not the third installment of the RE series?
I feel it had adifferent atmosphere then 1 and 2, but thats just me.
When are these hd versions coming out?
CV X will be out next week.
...so these are the HD games then? Some one last page said they aren't.
So 180 quick turn isn't an advancement in gameplay? Dodging attacks wasn't an advancement? How about live selection? Mixing gun powder? Persistent bosses that do more than get shot at? Environment interaction (oil drums, electrical lines etc)? In fact, if you consider the game play changes from Resident 1 to 2, you'll see that there's basically nothing new added. Compare that to difference in 2 to 3, and you'll see it's like night and day.
RE3 is such a game play improvement over 1 and 2 I'm not sure how anyone can seriously say that. The game was shorter for sure, but there are still stuff to do. Epilogue files, alternative costumes, extra weapons for killing Nemesis on hard mode and the mercenary mini-game. Probably more stuff but I don't remember.
Maybe it didn't advance the story that much, but it filled in gaps and put a close on Raccoon City as the main stage for Resident Evil.
But I suppose the fact that you only played 1 main character doesn't make it a proper sequel.
I might be alone in this, but just something about the game always felt off when I compared it to the first two resident evils. I don't want to call it an arcade survival horror game, but I have no other word to describe it.
It is definitely my least favorite RE game, but if asked to describe why, I wouldn't be able to =(.

I say this because RE:N didn't really advance the story. It just bridged the gaps between RE2 and RE:CV and wasn't really so much RE2 as it was RE2 1/2.
Gameplay mechanics wasn't really what I was going for, because it made some really great adjustments to the controls and dynamics. It kind of failed as a story though.
I don't put that much stock in RE stories, which is why the apparent failings of RE3's story don't bother me at all. Each one is just a set of events and a mystery you have to solve/survive. Yeah, it doesn't go forward much, but I liked that it was set during two different periods, and the tone of the city changes in the 2nd half. It really should have been called RE3: What Jill Did, because that's what it was and I'm perfectly fine with that. But I get why you said that about RE3, and I can agree from a story perspective.
I like RE3 the most because of the game play and because Nemesis is a shit load of fun to fight. I wouldn't call it arcade-like at all, not sure what means to be honest. Mecenaries mini-game was arcade-like, if that's what you mean? Cause the main game feels nothing like Mercenaries.
(RE3 is my favourite, bias gogo)
I saw RE:4 was like 50% off for Playstation Plus members. I'm not sure what the time frame on that is. I was thinking about getting it, but I already have it on Wii and don't play it, some "HD" graphics won't make much of a difference for me.

As we mentioned last week, we’ve got even more RE deals for PlayStation fans to help celebrate Resident Evil’s 15th anniversary. For PlayStation Plus members, we’re offering the same 50-percent-off promotion for Resident Evil Code Veronica X HD that you enjoyed for Resident Evil 4 HD last week. That means you can score both games for under $20! To top it off, anyone who purchases Resident Evil Code Veronica X HD will receive five free PSN avatars. Happy zombie slaying!
That's tempting.
I was also really excited to see RE1-3 classics on there for free, got them on my PSP already.
Code Veronica X out on PSN, a meaty 2.4gb download.
Seems the devs did some work on it and added some lighting/bump map effects along with widescreen support. Looking forward to seeing it for myself when this finishes downloading.
PS+ treating me good this month.
Just finished RE4 HD... for my 6th or 7th time through the game. I'm not normally one who can play games over and over, but something about RE4 can let me keep going without getting bored. Now I'm on to Separate Ways, then I'll probably unlock the Chicago Typewriter and be done with it... for now.
If there are people who haven't played RE4 they should absolutely jump on the opportunity, especially if they can get it for 10 bucks with PS+. I don't know if I could recommend it to someone who's played it a bunch of times on PS2/Wii at full price though, as much as I love it, unless people have only played the GC version and haven't gotten to play any of the extra content.
I still don't think I want to get CV even at the reduced price. It was good but I don't really think it was my favorite game, not anywhere near as much as RE4 was. If they were on a disc together, I would have definitely bought themAnd unfortunately, the Asian version has Japanese text so I don't think we'll ever get it.
50% discount on RE4 is over unfortunately. Real shame as it's a good price for it being the no-frills nature of the port.
Still downloading CV here because my ISP is incompetent and I'm stuck with 1mbit download speeds for the night. Does it have re-playability at all? Mainly wanting to know if it has the multiple scenario setup of RE1/2 that made it worth going through multiple times. Game is new to me, so $10 for an enhanced version is fine by me.
