Really happy with both Guilty Crown and UN-Go.

Not sure what to think about UN-Go as a series yet but the first episode was about what I expected, especially since the PVs pretty much showed it was a murder mystery. UN-Go looks like a strong anime but I'm curious to where it will go from here. Guilty Crown has some unparalleled production values, that animation and artwork is among the best two or three I've ever seen for a TV anime. Early scenes reminded me of FF7 with the terrorist attack and later with the girl in the abandoned building (like Aeris in the church). Might as well throw in the train, too, for whatever reason. But I'm happy with the story and the characters so far in both, especially Inga from UN-Go. He's got an unusual mix of creepy and energetic/flamboyant together which you don't never see from a main character.

Just watched Guilty Crown and every moment of the entire episode was just so extremely good, definately of a very high quality and the plot is looking to be amazing aswell. A must watch.

I actually thought Guilty Crown reminded me more of GITS:SAC from the character designs, how the mecha moved, tone of the music during the battle scenes, UIs of the technology, even had a play on thermal armor used by section 9. But since both were produced by Production: IG I guess that makes sense.

Don't get me wrong though, I really WANT to like GC and think if they don't royally fuck it up with stupid concepts (not a huge fan of transformation sequences, and I hope they keep the story harem free) then it could turn out to be one of my favorites.

But then again....amazing animation by Production:IG, high potential for a really good story, fairly good music...where have I seen these before?

My only problem with Guilty Crown was the music that played when Gai beat up all those guys. >.> I don't know why, just felt out of place.

I'm not sure about Guilty Crown.

The story was based on a generic "boy meet girl with special power" formula, and there was not a single surprise that broke away from this pattern. It doesn't necessarily mean it will be bad, but the good one usually have a twist or two, or at least, something clever (like Lelouch's ability and the foreshadowed bad ending). Even the power up scenes felt identical to the one you see in every animes (hand in chest)...can they think of something else?

I was also bothered by the black guy who conveniently didn't search the building. If you were searching for a girl who held top secret information, and you finally got your hand on her, anyone with common sense would look around to make sure they didn't miss anything? You would probably drag anyone who was around too just in case...Is it that hard to write a situation that is remotely believable?


The graphics were pretty at least, but the art...I'm seriously getting annoyed at the trend of getting the female cast as naked as TV allow them. It's distracting and unneeded in a show that try to be serious.

Some stuff even bothered me about this episode like how the black guy didn't search the building at all. You were searching for a girl who hold top secret information, you finally found her, but you don't even look around? You don't even ask the guys who was with her what's up? They should have taken both if what she had was that important.

Yeah, that was pretty dumb.

Art/animation can generally be enough to keep me interested though, as long as the story or characters aren't retarded.

Anyway, I loved the first episode of Guilty Crown and am truly excited for the rest of the season. Guess it is 22 episodes meaning it will continue after this Autumn season. Should give it enough time to develop a story fully and develop all the characters.

I have to admit, I'm surprised that I actually like Persona 4 anime. It's not quite as good as the game, but it's not far behind either (the horror and mysterious vibe from the first few months aren't as present imo). In overall, I think it would be hard to do better a adaption than that, and that's a good thing I guess. I also love how they introduced a bunch of elements from the game (especially the music).

I think the pacing might be a bit weird for someone who hasn't played the game (does feel like I'm playing on fast forward), but I guess it can't be helped when episode only last 20min.

I wasn't surprised that I liked it (I probably would've liked it even if it was shit), but I am surprised so many other people did. The music is definitely a high light of the series, along with the crazy art style and animation. I like the fast-forwardness, generally I think it took a long time to get story/conversations done in the game. At least they make conversations seem more natural in the anime.

Haganai is my favorite anime of the season so far hands down. I liked Guilty Crown, Un-Go was pretty cool, I'm still following why-brain and Chihayafuru (I actually quite like this anime). Horizon EP2 made me WTF some more so it has one more EP before I toss it. Oh and Fate/Zero is definitely a keeper for me as well.

Unless Chihaya changes a LOT I'll probably keep it the entire season. I really love the artwork.

Watched Haganai ep 2 same amazing laughter inducing hilarity as in the manga. Quick question though is the introduction of the word "Bitch" in anime something recent? I've only ever seen it used in recent things like Panty and Stocking.
