Fall 2011 Anime thread

I instinctively know when anime are out. I just go to TokyoTosho or Nyaa on certain days and know what to expect.

Yeah, after first week I usually memorize airing schedules for stuff I watch. I also leave up animetake and refresh couple times a day. I have MALU but I don't use the torrent feature on it. Prefer to pick my sub groups if possible, and I don't know if malu has filters for that.

MALU does allow you to filter torrents based on simple pattern matching, so if you want HorribleSubs you can include that or if you only want mkv/720p you can include that too. Sounds like nobody really has it automated better than MALU though.

I liked it, a lot. I hope they got the right idea with this show because it's pretty interesting so far. Knowing past experiences, though, it's going to be 10 consecutive episodes of generic school comedy..

Subbing seems pretty slow this season. Every group looks to be lacking staff to get things done. Still no subs for:

• Tamayura: Hitose 2, 3
• Working'!! 2, 3

EveTaku has had Tamayura ep2 done since the 13th.

I saw a picture on 4chan of a well drawn naked girl with silly censorship and a text bubble for "My body is ready". So I google searched for sauce and got linked to the chapter it from from (which was 50ish). And ended up reading like chapters 49-54. I apparently read only the plot twist, so I'm fucked when I go to watch it.

Yeah, it was a pretty interesting first episode. I wanted to watch the original again before I started this as a refresher but I never got around to it. It'll be interesting to see how this fits in with the original story, hopefully it's more that just a few superficial name drops here and there.

Well it all depends on how he is used in the story. If he's just there to provide a link to the old series but plays no significant role in the story then, yes, I would consider that superficial. However, that doesn't appear to be the case judging from the first episode.

Last Exile Fam was pretty decent I guess. Good musics and arts, interesting world (again), Fam was okay as a main character and I'm glad to see that a old one are back. However, I'm slightly bothered with certain change. It seem like 90% of the cast is female, and I got the impression this show got the fanservice treatment that the first series avoided so well. It won't make it unwatchable, but why do that?

Another thing that bothered me is how forced the fight scenes against the fleet was. Five vanships managed to beat the whole army without any loss? And why the sky pirates uses their own kids to do what I would consider a suicide mission? This episode made you feel the pirates pilots were invincible, but it didn't feel right in a Last Exile episode.

If the OP is some sort of foreshadowing, Dio bloody hands and crazy look seem to be an indicator he will have an important role later. And with the ship coming back, we are going to see Claus play some important role eventually

The show is a direct sequel, it would be surprising if these old characters are just tossed around as cameo.

Ika Musume 4

Easily the best episode in the series so far. Two amazing mini episodes followed by the return of mini Ika Musume. I haven't laughed that hard at an Anime in a very long time.

I'm probably not going to be able to keep up with all the anime this fall, but have any of you guys watched Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere?

I've watched two episodes and I still don't know what the fuck is going on. It's kinda weird, plenty of censored fan service, a retarded main character (literally) and a huge cast of misfits. I guess it like a serious anime that can't take it self seriously... or something.
