And I know all anime likes to return to school. But seriously?
This is almost exactly how I felt about Angel Beats 2 and 3 eps in, but it actually turned out pretty good (I guess). I haven't sat down to watch Guilty Crown yet (soon), but I wonder if it will be the same feeling. Still too bad that Guilty Crown was so hyped and now maybe it's just going to be mediocre.

I'll give Guilty Crown more of a chance than Angel Beats if the animation, art and action keeps up. For that alone it's worth watching (at least for me).

Chihayafuru was great, I've seen Karuta played in other anime briefly, but it turned out more interesting than I imagined. Sad that the kid part of this anime will probably be better than the awkward teenage years.

Iirc its supposed to be 24 episodes long, so i'm hoping after they build up the character development a little bit the story will really take off.
I don't think the story will be terrible, but my expection were a lot higher than this considering the time slot, staffs and studio.

The action was well animated, but it's still missing a little something to make me impressed. I'm not sure if it's because the characters are never serious, or if it is because we don't know what's going on, but it's missing some tension to make me care about the outcome.

So far though, I like what i'm seeing, and i'm trying to hold off being too cynical and just enjoying myself.
My tolerance for fanservice is pretty damn low if it's not part of the show (ie: penguindrum, Stardriver..etc)

What annoy me here is that Guilty Crown is a noitamina anime. Until recently, both time slot were reserved to artsty show, or series that do something different than most animes, and most of them ended up being my favorite (they are all 9 or 10)
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noitamina

However, Guilty Crown seem to shit on this and embrace everything I hate about the current animes industry.

That's what piss me off the most about Guilty Crown. I'm pretty sure girls in tight outfit and good animation is the reason why it's getting this much attention, but it shouldn't be enough.

Chihayafuru is one of my favorite this season, if not my favorite. I'm also worried about the incoming timeskip (probably next episode), but even if it's one third as enjoyable as it is right now, it's still going to be worthwhile.

Yeah, I hope the time skip and present stuff is still as good, but I just know it's going to be about love and feelings. I was unsure at the start because it looked like it was going to be another one of those "awkward beautiful girls who doesn't know how beautiful she is" affairs, but I'm glad the back flash changed my mind.

Also, the characters in your sig remind me of Chihayafuru, mostly just the hair colours and sex, but it lines up perfectly lol.

Persona 4 was good as usual. Animation, art, music etc is all still there. Pacing is still a major concern of mine, but it was pulled off fine in this episode. Loved the fight scene, and I'm glad not every fight against your persona ends with an inspirational "I AM YOU" speech to beat the bad guy (I imagine that was an option for an anime adaptation to save on a real fight scene). They actually kicked its ass then did the speech like in the games.

Shrug, I've liked both episodes of Guilty Crown after first viewing. Didn't really have high expectations or read much about it beforehand though so no hype here.

noitaminA timeslot also hasn't been that great tbh. Honey and Clover 1/2, Toshokan Sensou, AnoHana, and Usagi Drop are the only shows I've really enjoyed out of the 30ish or so shows that have been there.

I wrote something like this in my last post, but deleted it since it came off. "Awkward beautiful girl" is definitively what it felt like at first, but like you said, the flashback changed my mind, and hopefully, her character is going to be deeper than she seemed at first. However, it would still take a lot to make me hate this show.

Sig came from penguindrum two weeks ago. It was too cute to not use.

Persona's pacing is still a bit off, but it's still much better than I expected, and the shadow scenes were both great (remember how I thought it would be bad a few weeks ago..I'm glad I was wrong). Isn't it exactly what happened after the fight tho?

It was slightly more over the top in the anime, but the scenes are still similar.

Tokyo magnitude, Tatami galaxy were great. Also loved, Shiki, C, Eden of East, moyashimon wandering son, nodame more than most anime.

I know the "I AM YOU" speeches happen (and I like them as well), but I'm just glad they don't happen in place of a real fight.

And it may have been foolish, but I didn't expect them to bring out more persona for the MC (anime adaptation bleh). Seeing him switch was awesome.

My bad, I misread your post.

I'm just bummed they didn't use wind attack to beat Chie's shadow! I supose that would be asking too much, they still included social link characters in this episode as background character. That was great.

Im trying to take this approach as well. If I can get over the fact that this is ANOTHER anime that has some punk little kid having a mecha/naked girl/mystical power just fall into his undeserving lap then I can probably get over everything else and just enjoy the pretty animation and fight scenes.

But there is a line. As I said before as long as it doesn't approach the Blood C fucked up-dom then im good...

That's true, I'm debating if Blood-C is worth watching, even if it is for the wrong reasons. The plot is just so stupid and fucked up I can't believe it actually happened. Fights were cool though, no doubt about that.

Indeed. Comedy of the year thanks to it's shear stupidity.

Pyro Jack! Kind of cool seeing a Persona I recognize from P3.

P4's persona is based on the same pool of demon sprites from SMT: Nocturne as P3

That's interesting to know. I recognized those shadow clones that had poles impaled through their bodies as well.

Yeah, a lot of the persona/shadows are common throughout SMT games. The only unique ones are usually story/character related.
