No trouble understanding, just calling bullshit. I don't believe that commie doesn't work and utw or coalgirls does, nor do I believe that your stuff is up to date. It's my personal opinion that you're experiencing a PEBKAC error. It doesn't really help when you yourself say "I'm aware it's probably a problem on my end."

Now, do I really think it's worth you spending 5 minutes to update your shit so that you don't have to waste time(more than 5 minutes) finding obscure sub groups for everything? Yes, just as any other rational person would. God forbid anybody has to update their codecs when multiple fansubbing groups starts using newer and better video formats.

Seriously, I have more trouble on encoded shit by Coalgirls when using VLC than anyone else, fuck them for encoding in 10bit and just fucking the blu-ray madoka when i was trying to play it on a projection screen

But really, keep CCCP updated, and you really shouldn't get any issue playing anything ever.

Anyone who uses VLC deserves any playback problems they may incur.

Windows: CCCP or madVR with MPC-HC.
OSX: MPlayer OSX Extended with mplayer2 binary.
Linux: mplayer2

I have yet to run into an encode I can't play back. The one time there was any sort of "difficulty" was when Hi10p was first being experimented with and I needed to install a CCCP beta release for a few weeks.

I just watched the 2nd episode of Ben-to, and I have to say it was kind of badass. 1st episode wasn't great at all, but I think it'll pick up.

I've been watching it from the start, just downed ep 3, and the show is really good. The premise is complete nuts, but it handles it so solidly the show is just a standout.

I know Alvis and Dio are back. But is this the same Dio? Wheres Sophia, Claus, Lavie, and the rest of the Silvana crew? You would think a surviving empress of Anatory would still be hanging around. If this is only a few years later, where did these others nations that aren't Anatory or Disith come from? And there are an awful lot of guildies in the lower world now. Weird.

Havn't been able to find anything on that anywhere. It's a bit difficult to jump into personally without knowing at least the time jump.

Also, I do like what/how they've put together Fam so far. Just enough homage to the original with the opening and title sequences.

P4 is ok, but following really close to the game. I know they're probably handcuffed about that to an extent by Atlus...but I wouldn't mind a LITTLE deviation.

Fate/Zero is just great. I love how they're doing so much more with the masters characters and personality than from the original without cutting focus on battles and the Grail War itself.

Thats all I really think I'm gonna follow. Guilty Crown is early, but outside of being pretty just isn't grabbing me.

What's the version of your mpc? If you are up to date then something else on your computer is most likely fucking up your ability to play newer files. Are you using an old version of coreavc or do you have any other codec shit installed?

Driven to insanity, he participates in the Rite of the Covenant, where the next Maestro is chosen, and emerges victorious. He escapes with Claus and Alvis soon after and is nursed back to health in the Mad-Thane residence. He flees from there in a vanship and travels to the Grand Stream. Being delirious, his memory resets to the moment of the race in Horizon Cave, and he attempts to pass Claus. At that moment he tells his navi, Lucciola (who isn't there), to jump out so they can get more speed. He crosses a flock of rainbirds believing them to be the finish line and congratulates Lucciola on their victory and invites him to celebrate, but he then turns around to find he is not there. Believing Lucciola had actually jumped from the vanship, he attempts to cross to his seat while crying, but his vanship is then hit by a gust of wind and he is swallowed by the Grand Stream.

It was implied that he survived, but we had no comfirmation until now.


The main 3 characters left on the Last Exile back recently (the ship did at least, and we can expect to see one of them in the intro). The rest of the cast who survive are probably busy rebuilding their nations after the war


I don't know why the guild is more present, but it wouldnt be surprising after the first series event. C

Just chiming in on the fansub stuff, I've had my share of problems with playback and stuff so here is what I've found:

I play stuff from Commie and CoalGirls regularly as well as Horriblesubs and just about every other sub group out there.

I had problems with the previous (not latest) version of CCCP+MPHC when I was outputting to my HDTV from videocard (it would freeze) because of the renderers in MPHC.
I have problems anytime I play mkvs in VLC (it skips and artifacts sometimes), so I just plain don't use VLC anymore.

Since upgrading to MadVR + MPHC (no CCCP or any other filters) following the instructions on CoalGirls website so I could play their Hi10p stuff, I have not had a single problem with playback for any media file no matter what type or what group, nor have had any problem outputting to my TV. It's a pretty sweet deal really, I wouldn't do it any other way now. Though I don't personally notice the difference between 8p and 10p.

If you're relying on fansubs to watch stuff you want to watch, I would say that yes, your video configuration and which group's subs you watch is an important issue at least warranting some looking at, so I don't think it's a moot point to be talking about here.
As for sub groups, all of them have mistakes or bad things about them, and for new stuff I generally try to stick to the 'big' ones regardless (gg, horrible, doki, coalgirls, commie) because they have the fastest release time and I understand Japanese well enough that I can catch if they make a mistake in the subs. Normally, it's not a problem though.
