I think Gulk and I are the only ones who like Tsugumi in the anime (because of those cat ears).

I think they'll go back to the school life again and again throughout the series since they seemed to indicate that some of his classmates will play more important roles as the series develops. Not sure to what level they'll be involved but I'm guessing we'll see the school quite often throughout the course of this anime. Hopefully not full episodes, just scenes to connect other scenes like how schools should be used in anime. Never liked school settings in anime, so I'm not happy that there are school scenes in Guilty Crown.

my only beef about P4 is of all the potential chariots they could have used, they took the mitama instead of the cooler one like nata taishi or something.

though i suppose they're choosing the less interesting persona of the secondary arcana to not shift the focus too much from izanagi...as opposed to the actual game

Yeah, besides it's hard to tell what Persona everyone used, but at least the mascot ones are recognizable. I'd love to see some awesome Justice and Judgement Persona in the anime.

Persona 4 was great this episode, really caught the intensity of the battle well. I lol'd at Narakumi not getting another arcana at the ending though, guess they're going for the friendship stuff properly.

Guilty Crown 3 was shitty until near the end, then it picked up (but the entire episode was predictable - at least I laughed when Shu touched that girl's boob). Inori and Shu's relationship is so forced it makes me laugh, as well as Inori being so weird and stupid.

Too bad Guilty Crown isn't living up to its hype.
I haven't seen many people talking about C3, did everyone drop it? I was really surprised by the turn of events in ep 2; despite it being a really cliche story on the outside, the inside seems very interesting but I still haven't watched 3-4. I thought it was going to be what everyone is complaining about Guilty Crown for, but it's not actually like that it seems.

C3 is OK, I feel like it's trying to hard to be dark and bloody. The animation and fights are cool, but the characters and events outside the darkness are typical and not at all fun to watch. People were comparing it to Madoka but it really doesn't have the same atmosphere at all.

Penguindrum 16 was weird but awesome. I kept on thinking that the grandfather was that crazy old guy from Kaiji. Kinda looks like him lol

Carnival Phantasm 1st and 2nd Season.
It's nice seeing a comedy series with these characters, their normal series get pretty violent and unhappy.. of course none of that is presented here. this was quite entertaining and indeed funny.

I don't understand why he went for a girl in the middle of the school anyway. He could have tested his shit on Inori, or just go for someone who is alone.

Also, considering he was trying to stop one person who may have seen him, going around school during the day, yelling, and doing a ton of flashy special effect isn't going to help his case.

While I absolutely loved Steins;Gate I'm finding Penguindrum to be only ok at best. It has taken far to long to actually develop the overall story and hasn't had any of the "Holy Shit, did that just happen?" moments that Steins;Gate had. It really feels like it's going to have a rushed ending that won't be very satisfying. More in depth analysis in the spoiler tag with spoilers for those who have seen it.

The first 12 episodes spent waaaaaaaaaaaay too much time with Ringo as the focus character. I always felt she was a bland and uninteresting character and then she crossed the line to irredeemable when she drugged and nearly raped Tabuki. I know a lot of people will say that it's just the dark comedy in the show but I didn't find it funny or entertaining at all. Even having the tables turned on her and almost being raped by Yuri didn't improve my opinion of Ringo. The fact that Shoma has been dragged along for most of this storyline without doing anything of importance just makes me not give a shit about him.

The Tabuki and Yuri story line just seems pointless even with their connection to Momoka. Honestly it was more interesting to me before they revealed Yuri as a crazy pyscho with a sham marriage. Tabuki really hasn't done anything worthwhile in...ever I guess, which is sad because I feel he could be a very interesting character.

The Masako/Mario storyline got slightly better after this last episode, but again it is being dragged out for way too long, and her obsession with Kanba is getting old.

Really the only story lines that keep me watching are Kanba and whatever the hell he is up to and Himari and her relationship with Double H, but again it's been way to slow in developing those stories. Hopefully when they do finally get a lot of attention they will actually be interesting.

tl;dr Steins;Gate ended most episodes with a holy shit that was awesome/what the fuck just happened feeling, and Penguindrum has only managed to do that in a couple of episodes so far.

Both show are completely different, and comparing them isn't a good idea. I think penguindrum quality is better in overall, but they serve different purpose, and both are probably going to get a 10 on my list.


Why you should watch penguindrum? First of all, the art it great. It's very colorful, and there is always something in the background to look at. It remind me a lot of Shaft actually

Secondly, if you like stories that uses metaphors, allegories and symbolism, it won't get any better than this. Penguindrum is weird as hell, and it always play on many different level. You're never quite sure what you just watched


And lastly, it's a story you most likely have never seen before. If you're tired of studio rehashing the same concepts all the time, this series offer something new.

Honestly, Penguindrum can be a hard watch for a while because it seems so random and nothing actually happens (or at least it seems that way). But I bet the pay off at the end of the madness will be worth it. And I also bet a second watch of the series from the beginning after it's finished will be different than the first.

The Anime marks the return one most influential directors in the business "Kunihiko Ikuhara" is best known as the director of Revolutionary Girl Utena. He also directed much of Sailor Moon.

Also Ikuhara loves to insert troll symbolism all over the place, in a way it's best to ignore it but it's fun to think about and Akiyuki Shinbo*Shaft's director* was so influenced by Kunihiko Ikuhara that he adopted his style.

The story explains the day-to-day of a college freshman just starting a new life in the School of Literature Department of Tama University. While he grew up with his sister, he left and lived by himself when she got married with a man who had two daughters from previous marriages. He tried to distance himself from that family and so he moved out to live on his own. About 3 years later he was asked by his sister to visit and babysit the girls which suddenly turned his life upside down when the girls' parents went missing. He now has to live with the three daughters of his sister; with which two (from a previous marriage) are not related by blood: a tsundere (14 years), a little demon (10 years) and a small girl (3 years). In a six tatami mat size room.

Guilty Crown Ep3

Yep, shit sucks. Not even in a so bad it's good sorta way. It's just all terrible all the time.. Nearly every single anime trope is represented here in the usual fashion. Even if they don't fit with the tone they've tried to set up so far.

Fate/Zero Ep 5 Berserker is AWESOME

I don't even know what there is to talk about or discuss regarding the actual show anymore since I keep repeating myself. I guess I should mention the characters interaction this week were extremely well-executed, particularly the scenes with Waver and Rider. Studio Ufotable does deserve a lot of credit for this. Very few studios even with the proper money and time could pull something like this off.
