Are you kidding? Gil is still top dog and everyone knows it. I've grown to kind of like him (he is pretty hot and so horribly arrogant it's hilarious) even though he's a one-trick pony, I'm definitely not rooting for him but he's really fun to watch and he's definitely still got that 'I'm going to fuck you seven ways sideways' vibe that makes encounters really intense.

Rider is a pleasant surprise to me, he is hilarious in a completely different way. I love his attitude and how he treats his wimpy master, and even all the other servants, like friends. I guess when you're a guy who conquered most of the known world in your day, you can afford to be pretty jolly. I'm gonna be so sad when (conjecture, I never played/read the series) he eventually gets his ass beat by someone, probably underhandedly at that.

I think watching Index S1 > Railgun is the better choice.

How would Index S2 figure into that? I have everything sitting on my NAS, I just haven't gotten around to watching.

Whenever you want after S1. Watching S1 Index before Railgun just makes sure you know the background behind some characters and events, S2 doesn't really add anything to that.

Eh, Gil only really a threat on Fate route then too. In UBW he's just a boss thrown in for a measure of Shirou/Archer's actual power, and in HF he just kinda died retardedly to the shadows.

If you remember, Kariya was told to summon his hero with the Berserker attribute. Based on that I would assume that Berserker is sort of a wildcard that heros can be summoned with increased power in exchange for their mental capacity. I would guess that F/Z Berserker could have been summoned as another class otherwise.

I don't think Hercules fits the mold of any other class.

I mean, they could fit him into the category you state, but I'd still consider him a Saber class. But hey w/e works.

Hercules would have made any class short of Assassin and Caster considering his parameter was already pretty godly and his legends can fit him into pretty much any warrior roles.

Hell, his Nine-Lives was originally a Bow/Arrow move, but somehow Shirou downloaded that shit to work with his gigantic swordaxe. Anyway, Berserker can pretty much be inputted on any hero that has a story of...going berserk/mad at some point of their life, in Hercules case was his overall temperament and the time when Hera possessed him to murder his wife and children, and as for this Berserker

It's the aftermath of his betrayal to Arthur over Guinevere that caused him to turn on his fellow knights and guilt that consumes him afterward

I can understand what you're saying, but I thought that the precursor for being chosen as a specific class type also had to do with the legend behind the type of weapon you wielded. I'm not a Fate buff so this is just stuff I've picked up from watching the animes so anymore information is always a plus.

Hercules could have been summoned as Saber or Archer if you go by his weapons. While he's mostly known for his brawn and his cudgel, he used a sword to kill the Lernaean Hydra, and he used a bow and arrows to kill/chase off the Stymphalian birds and to kill the centaur Nessus.

Gotcha. Does Gilgamesh have anything that could have him considered Archer? Or does the Babylon gate kinda cover all bases?

I can't find anything in his legend that lends to an Archer class. According to the Fate wiki his class is defined by the way he uses Gate of Babylon to fight from a distance rather than close-in, much like FS/N Archer (though he does fight in melee range as well).

The Archer requirement was satisfied by projectile use of Noble Phantasm, and Servant's strong will for Independence Action.

That and the Archer class has like the lowest stat requirement, despite being one of the so called "Knight" Class

*sigh* I'm really trying to like it now, but Inori is pissing me off. Unless I completely missed something I don't see how she went from her usual no personality state to suddenly having this attachment to Shu. Also not understanding his sudden urge to go out and save her since there seemed to be no transition between that and him deciding to trust Gai or not (although at the end he still had that tracker that the general dude gave him so that may have something to do with it). Small battle scene at the end looked good. And at this point, I'm completely over some of the horrible music that they choose...

I don't like Inori either, her inconsistency and her lack of personality and emotion have gotten on my nerves. She's the weakest character in the series, so why she's the lead female, I don't know. But I do like almost everyone else, especially Gai and the new villain Segai. And Shu's improved, too, to the point where he's secure around people and the decisions he makes. Artwork was again impressive and I liked the battle at the end, too. As for the music... I kinda like it :3

There's an unbelievable amount of powerlevel discussion about the Fate universe.

Hercules would have probably been stronger as an Archer or Saber, given several abilities of his were locked by the Madness Enhancement.

Hercules was also super butthurt that he didn't get to fight Archer with a sane mind, because he wanted to trade blades with who he saw as an incredibly worthy opponent.

As far as Gilgamesh is concerned, he's the strongest guy in the Fate universe, period. His ironic downside is that he is incapable of ever fighting anyone seriously, because he thinks of himself so highly. He's only been remotely considered "serious" twice in the series:

Against F/Z Rider's Ionioi Hetarioi and then again in Fate/Hollow Ataraxia for almost no reason at all.. a lot of people think this one is just Nasu saying "hey guys, this guy is pretty badass at full power"

When he goes all out in F/HA he rips holes in dimensional walls and fucks up casuality..
