Fall 2011 Anime thread

Anime sucked because it's mostly Fate route, which really has nothing compared to UBW and HF

Not to mention their attempt to incorporate UBW and HF into the damn thing just fucked up the entire pacing and make the overall story idiotic.

Would've been much better as a 12 episode series of just Fate scenario...

I've been told to read/play the VN rather than watch the anime or at least do it before watching the anime. As of right now, I haven't watched anything or read anything yet but I'm planning to start soon. Do you think this is the best course of action to get into the series?

Indeed, The VN is awesome + it's 3 pretty lengthy paths so it will keep you occupied for a while. I think you should just skip F/SN anime entirely and only watch UBW movie if you want after that.

I regret watching the anime because it spoiled FSN for me for a long time. My friends love FSN, so they've told me most of the interesting things about it. But the characters you see in the anime are annoying with very little personality or back story. It's a shame, because these are interesting characters with motivations and reasons to do what they do and you never hear about it lol

FSN anime is a terrible way to get into fate. Don't do it.

FSN anime worked for me at least. Made me want to play the VN for the real deal. Unfortunately I've been sidetracked by cheap Mass Effect 1 and 2 for the time being. Yes, I'm a few years behind there.

wait for F/HA to be fully translated (lol never happening)

If you dont wanna get spoilered, doing F/Z first is quite possibly the worst way to go

It's a catch-22.

Doing Fate/Stay Night first means you'll know how Fate/Zero ends; if you go with Fate/Zero first, you'll learn most of the secrets Fate/Stay Night reveals.
There is no best order to watch it, you're going to have some potentiality ruined either way.

Yeah, but seem like F/Z is set-up in the way that they expect you to be familiar with all F/SN's setting and scenario.

But I'm someone that believes reading spoiler from wiki is probably more entertaining than watching the F/SN anime, so take it with a grain of salt

I think I'll just start with the VN and then watch the anime in chronological order following. Not sure when I'll do any of that though since my backlog of anime is huge. Thanks for the recommendations/suggestions though!

Is Kaiji Season 2 any good?

I always viewed Kaiji was the shitty non-awesome version of Akagi, but Kaiji got renewed and Akagi didnt

It was all right, but it's really dragged out, even more so than the first season. It's probably better as a marathon so you don't have to wait a week between episodes, but at the same time that dulls some of the tension that the show tries really hard to build up.
