They seriously to need to balance leves difficulty so that if you can do the first set of objective, you can finish it. It's fucking retarded to waste 20 minutes killing some mobs only to hit yourself on a wall at the end
Last night, while doing level 20 leves I could handle them on 2-3 stars.....UNTIL....the mob would run away and then a dozen more would spawn and own me. Needless to say, it fucking sucked. Not to mention, no corpse run and having to return (which, imo is stupid and 2002) back to camp then having to run it all over again after waiting 2ish minutes. Blah.
I ran yesterday to the Amalja settlement hoping for something more exciting there but it's just few of them around some structure. Ones on the bottom were 27ish and ones on top 47ish. 10-15 all together, dropped some coins but I guess those got no purpose.
They are pretty underwhelming. Like someone speculated before in another thread, they do resemble those campfires in XI where 3-5 Quadav would roam.
Tee hee, I said that a few weeks ago. I miss those campfires.
When you are in a party doing someone else's guildleve, do you get a skillpoint bonus upon completion as well as the owner of the leve? Assuming you didn't leve-link.
I have to write something to be able to post, so here it is.Gondai: We’ll continue to break up what we’re working on over a number of patches, first 1.18 and then 1.19, and so on. It’d be impossible to release everything all at once. But I hope people won’t judge us too harshly on that, saying stuff like “Is this all there is to patch 1.18?!” It might not be for us to say, but I think things are going smoother than we expected, so please wait just a bit longer.
Oh we'll all wait, but we're still allowed to say "is this all there is?" for any patch, in any game. We did pay for the game, after all.
I put up the questline for Grid and Ul'dah too:

Grid has Cid's appearance at the end, since it's the first one I did. Urianger is in all three and says the same thing, the only difference is he summons a different mob. You also meet a Main Scenario NPC from the country of the Company you're doing, and if they're from your home country they'll recognize you and the dialogue will be a bit different. I thought that was kinda cool, nice to see those NPCs again. Otherwise, the quests for all three are almost identical, the same objectives just running to different places. I was hoping there'd be more differences that would help people decide "This is the company for me!", but it seems that realistically you probably just want to go with the one that has the seal rewards you like the best, or wherever your friends are going in case there's unique group missions later.
Cid appears in Ul'Dah last CS too so I guess it's universal for the first one you do.
Wow I let it DL overnight and it still isn't done, what method do people use to get this done faster?
LAWL @ these responses, delicious! morsels! let me get my bib!
I take it back, I'll take the stamina bar back, just put archer back the way it was :/
On the more serious note; is F8 targeting not supposed to be possible anymore?
I read this on the FoH forums. Pretty funny:
"A month is not a timescale SE is familiar with. It took over 3 years for them to finish the Wings of the Goddess expansion for FFXI. Seriously, buy the expansion and you can't complete the storyline for over THREE YEARS. Entire triple AAA games are done in that time, this is a bunch of cutscenes and some scripted fights they should have been able to bang out in a week tops and should have been in the box when they shipped it."
Followed by:
"Even if they were in at launch they'd have been restricting progress with their Japanese midnight bullshit. Not defending them in any way, just if you've played FFXI you'll know they have no problems finding new and inventive ways to reduce content to a crawl."
I'd like more differences as well, but I'm already starting to get a feel for the tone of each company. Grid is a nurturing "we must do this to protect our land" vibe, Ul'dah revolves around politics and money and Limsa is a "use our might/we are better" to see it through attitude. To be honest, I've enjoyed thinking about which of them suits my playstyle.
damn hate system seem pretty fucked up lol
I find it ok for single target... AoE hate is a fucking mess.
They need to buff the hate on GLA skills from what I'm seeing.
