    Basic electrical question.

Just checking bases to make sure I'm doing this right.

I received a gift mini helicopter (RC). It currently has a 3.7v Li-Po 250mAh battery.

If I connect these in parallel, (not series). The resulting output should be 500mAh @ 3.7v correct?

Are there any negative effects to doing this?

    Thanks

I thought series was the only way to increase voltage. I just want to increase times in longer flights by increasing the maximum mAh

It will explode, and rip a hole in the space time continuum. From this hole, a thousand horrors will spawn, all intent on your own demise. After devouring your body and soul, they will spread across this universe like a plague of locusts. Humans and Aliens alike will be destroyed in their wake, and the universe will cry out with such force that every partially-sentient being will feel the effects. Eventually a rebellion will form, but the powers of the horrors will be too great, and the rebels will be forced to enter a black hole to escape the oncoming swarm. Unfortunately, life is cruel, and they will not learn from their mistakes, and some poor child on Earth 2 will make the same attempt as you, letting the horrors infest the new universe, but they will come from our own, instead of an unknown one. This cycle will continue until all fades to blackness, and only horrible creatures and nightmares remain in every reality, and every universe, haunting the cosmos forever.

Circuits don't increase voltage. Whatever your source is rated at is what the circuit will be from point A - Z. Series circuits actually decreases amperage (current) because of the added load or loads (more loads = more resistance in the circuit = less amperage to power the 2nd, 3rd, etc loads).

The circuit you posted would stay at 250mAH.

tl;dr That parallel circuit looks fine.

You are using 2 batteries with the same capacity which is good, but also make sure they have the same discharge rate (C). If they are the same brand and model, then their C value should be the same. If one happens to have a higher C though, it may discharge below 3 V and damage the cell.

Reminds me of my AC circuitry class for my CEET associates. This is correct

PCB has a short circuit shutoff to prevent drops below 3.7v. Really nice to prevent Li-Po overheating explosions.
