Well it was okay. I'd give it around 6 out of 10. Effects were good, acting was okay, there were funny bits, very cheesy bits and while the laws of physics were repeatedly tossed around, there's one that was just out of this world - you'll know it when you see it. I would probably have rented it but the effects should probably be seen on the big screen.

Advance screening in England before general release tomorrow. Seems lately we're going to be getting films before you do (Avengers being the big example).

I had wavered giving it 6/10. After thinking on it, I think anything over 5 is generous. Without going into too much detail, certain storylines were extraneous and had no follow up and could easily have been taken out but they had explosions in them so I guess they had to stay.

Reviews over here have not been kind to the film or the director, Peter Berg. There are comparisons to Michael Bay's style of films.

Most (all?) action movies (and plenty of others) are like that.
The question always is "how low is the threshold for 'thinking too much about it'?"... and in a movie based on a board game, that threshold probably lies on the bottom of the deepest abyss (deeper than the Mariana Trench, for some things we do not see and cannot know).

What I'm saying is: some movies are too dumb to enjoy even with one's brain switched off.

Movie has a 38% on RT already and hasn't even come out. Most critics are talking about how the movie rotted their brains out and now they have to kill themselves.

Nothing in the movie made any sense nor certain key scenes explained lol . Yes if you do not ask any questions about the plot its somewhat enjoyable

Movie's okay in a "turn your brain off" type style. Exactly what I'd expected to be.

Nope. The closest you get is her wearing a vest at the beginning, with trousers on maybe? Can't remember exactly, movie was in and out of my brain the same day.

Is there a legitimate reason why there's a "happy ending" when the aliens have shields and better weapons? Not really interested in seeing this movie, but I really wanna know what the con is.

To me is always seemed like Hasbro said "we still have all this cool special effect stuff left over from Transformers, lets do something with it"
