I know the game hasn't been out long but I've been reading and hearing that drops are just material-based. Are there no rare equipment/weapon drops from "NM" type monsters (Basically, I'm asking if drops are like FFXI)? Just finding gear in chests and on bosses everyone has to fight is actually keeping me from picking this game up. I actually enjoy farming for rare gear...as long as there's no competition! >.<;
from what I've seen so far. all the big monsters just drop rare upgrade materials. I've found equipment in chests around dungeons, but nothing super special thus far.
Has anyone picked up the DLC quest yet? It's only $2, so I'll probably grab it after I finish the 4 quests after Everfall.
It's an issue with Capcom's MT Framework engine, same thing happened in Resident Evil 5.
Changing you Xbox360 down to 720p will cut down on the tearing. Most games are upscaled 720p anyways so you aren't losing any graphical quality.
I got some sweet jewelry in the Watergod Altar dungeon after lowering the water level, can't enhance jewelry though.
double post
One of my big dislikes about the AI, is if they have an enchantment, but the enemy youre fighting isnt weak to that element, they wont cast it.
Like if they have the fire enchantment, but the enemy youre fighting isnt weak to fire, they wont use it. Even though it would still add more damage.
man, after killing the two Cyclops in the Stone of the Southwest fortress for the Fortress Besieged quest, I just feel bad for all these goblins.
and shortly after typing this, I find a sword with permanent fire enchantment lol
fyi, chests appear to be somewhat random. I opened a chest and got some boot but then accidentally fell and died. when I got to the same spot and opened the same chest, it gave me a bow instead.
My tank is almost max rank. I'm going to miss him as my tank ; ;
and also; for the "A Queen's Regalia" trophy, all you have to do is recruit a male pawn dressed in women's clothing. I picked up a really scary black guy just now because he looked to be a good healer but was dressed in women's clothing and got the trophy.
I wanna give shoutouts to Kaelan? And souj for providing with badass pawns. Keep making them badass as they've save my ass from making dumbass decisions with only recourse is the FFXI skills I learned almost 8 years ago.
God damn it lol I wish they would at least color code quests according to your level to scale difficulty. I went around the bend trying to get to witchwood and the sword/shield bandit guys raped me every time they got a power attack off.
Now that I've been playing Magic Archer for awhile, I can't imagine life without Magical Flare/Magical Gleam. In a dungeon and not sure what's down that hall? Shoot a flare. Stuck outside at night time? Shoot some flares. Need to one-shot some undead? Shoot a flare. Way too good.
lol thanks. today may be your last day for my tank! 1 rank away from max then I'll be switching it to something else.
Does anyone know where the slums are? doing the Seeking Salvation quest and I can't find Mason and the only tip I get is that he'd be in the Slums.
edit; nvm, found it.
So what are people using for their magick archers? staves or daggers?
oh wait. Staves take away secondary skills? fuck staves then.
How and where the hell do I make equipment? Can't hardly do shit with this rusted sword and shield.
edit: derp on me but what about crafting?
I just switch my pawn back to tank before I rest so that the tank is what will show up on the network. Let's me use my pawn how I want, while letting people use something better than a level 22/rank 2 mage. Also, for my Magic Archer I carry a staff just so I can equip it and levitate if I need to. Otherwise it's all daggers and bows with dagger skills set to offer utility based on where I'm going.
Server seems to be lagging real bad on PS3, accessing server takes forever or outright doesn't work with an error code. Also I wanted to nab some of that DLC but PSN is under maintenance lol. When you download DLC that includes weapons/armor, does that go to your storage box or does it unlock a merchant of some kind?
Ffff having lots of issues now. Can't access server at all it seems, so I can't update pawns I'm using if their player leveled them, or exchange for new ones. Man that's frustrating lol.
I'm on PS3 as well, but I haven't had any lag issues whatsoever with accessing the server.
Maybe its this shitty storm then for some reason.
Just got lvl 30 magick knight last night and its a little overpowered I think maybe? The Magick Missile thing upgraded to lvl 2 shoots out 3 photon balls per hit, and it can stack... so if you en-thunder and then do the Magick Missile thing, stack it 3 times and go crazy with light attacks you can take a troll down in like 20 seconds flat with no help? :[ It is very fun though!
Went to the cavern up by the northern 'bandit hideout' (got a chivo) and cleared it out, very small dungeon but ended up with like 700k worth of equipment to sell, which i promptly took to the vendor at the outpost near the cave and bought all kinds of crazy equipment.
Well looking at vocations now, the magic archer looks to be most promising a change for me. Want to stick to daggers being my main weapon with bow being handy/nifty/whatever. Is magic archer's playtype pretty much strider with new tricks? Pros/Cons?
