I just grabbed Hodor to tank for me when I get a chance to play again later tonight. When I went to the rift, he was standing next to Aria. Well done, whoever made that pawn. She looks spot on.

Aria's mine lol. She's a bit better equipped now, still working on her. I love how her looks turned out, she's a character of my girlfriend's stories I just added a little flare.
Has anyone played Mystic Knight yet? I really want to give that class a go but I love playing Ranger.
I'm currently messing around with Mystic Knight. While fun, the counter spells don't seem all that fantastic since you can't use any taunts with the magick shields. The ability to swap between melee and magic just by switching weapons is pretty useful, though.
I haven't. I am much more interested in back lines types. Was Strider until it hit rank 5 or 6 and then switched to Magic Archer and am currently 26ish and rank 7 or so. May switch to Assassin tonight.
I have heard that blocking can be a bit hit or miss in general and then there is the fact that you would have to pause it every time you switch from spells to sword and board on Mystic Knight... that kind of turned me off to that class. I suppose if you had another tank pawn and simply did stave and sword and skipped shield... But still.
If anyone wants me to, when I get home later I can type up the level guide that gives you level recommendations for the different areas/locations that I found in the guidebook last night. It isn't much, but it might help you know if you are horridly under leveled for a certain area.
This is what I did. Installed and set to 720p the tearing is greatly reduced. It is in no way gone completely though. It is still there, and it is still more than I would like, but the badassery of the game makes me forget for the most part.
I love Magic Archer. I use my bow skills way more than my daggers and have a party around that fills out the melee roles. There is nothing more awesome looking that shooting an Explosive Arrow (basically a skill that fires an explosive tip arrow) into a Cyclops... it sits there glowing in his leg for a bit, then my Warrior pawn runs up and slams her two handed hammer into him and there is just a massive explosion. So fucking awesome.
I just got to Gran Soren. I just became a magic Archer and am liking it very much. Game seems like many others where magic rules all, though. Would like a little more control over pawns. A "Stay here" command would be nice instead of two "Help" Commands. I also just realized I can change the gear of my Pawn. lol
Well, sounds like I need to invest some time into playing Magic Archer.
... I'm farming to purchase the magic bow lol I'm fuckin dumb. Sorta cheesed about losing that nifty grabby chain skill that strider gets, loved pulling over enemies, especially multiple ones at a time. But magic archer sounds like just the kinda class I wanna play, lookin forward to progressing now.
Graelinn I couldn't ask you to do all that.. but it would be an epic resource lol.
Just got home and logged in to find about 24k Rift Points waiting for me. Feels good.
And it's my pleasure Kadaj, but know that it is a very general recommendation per area, and honestly, without a map (I forget it one was linked in this topic) you may not recognize some of the areas. I will edit it in in a minute!
Locations and their relative difficulty:
(spoilering but there are no super specific location names, just area names)

Enjoy, and I realize that some of these may be a bit difficult because you don't know where they are until you get there, nor what area some locations may be in... for that, here is the full map. Possible spoilers here since it is the whole map, but more a matter of opinion. They really are little more than fantasy novel names, so they don't mean much. There is no place called "Super End Game Castle!" or "Heart Stealing Dragon's Ville!" but... spoilering anyway!

lol Believe me any little bit helps. Though I have to admit, its pretty funny feeling all badass after kicking some wolves then walking just slightly off to the left only to get my balls rocked by some fucker. By the way is your PSN ID just Graelinn or is it something else?
Thank you in advance by the way.
Updated, and my PSN ID is Graelinn, as is my Xbox Gamertag which is what I am playing this fine gem on... if that was why you are asking.
If you guys do the quest with that stupid little girl in the city, LET HER WIN the race at the end. Its the only way I know of that you can get a "Golden Idol" Which can be used for 2 other quests later on. I feel like ass now because I can't finish those quests. Fuck.
Thanks Mots. Had no idea. Guidebook I have, but I generally don't read ahead. Tips to trade, when you Escort Madeleine to Gran Soren, look for another quest there where a guy wants you to follow another guy as he walks through the city at night. Don't fuck it up, all you really have to do is stay a good deal back from him and eventually you will complete the quest. Once you do, go back to where it ended and you will find a kickass shop.
Tip #2, as soon as you can, maybe around level 15-18ish with a good party do the quest to clear out the Quarry Tunnel. Once you do, go back and there is a kickass merchant in there too. You will be very happy, though looking at the prices also very sad.
Question. What happens if you let a pawn stay dead for too long? Are they perma gone or do they just go back to the Rift and chill?
We need more SS's up in here.
1st one is after spending around 150k on my pawn (on the left) and nothing left to spend on me... =( The rest are randoms. One is titled Guy on a Buffalo in honor of the best Youtube lols ever.

Those Cyclops'... cyclopi? Anyways, the Cyclops that wears those Helmets are fun. Climb up onto their head and they will try to swat you off but they take the helmet off as well. Then you shoot them in the face a bunch like normal. Well, if you've got a bow anyways.
so how well is this game doing? I know it's been a pretty ignored title before it came out and on release day it got bad reviews from certain reviewers who seem to be confusing this game with something else.
Not even close to beating this game (i think) and I already want a sequel!
so has anyone else run into any big monsters aside from Cyclops and Chimera and Trolls(though trolls seem to only be in dungeons) out in the wild that there are more than one of? Like the Gryphon is a quest monster only I think? and as far as I've seen there's only 1 Drake. I know there's a Cockatrice somewhere, but I'm assuming that's a quest only too.
The gryphon is definitely not just a quest monster. I was just leavin' Gran Soren earlier and saw some guards fighting a bunch of goblins. I thought this was a little strange but I went to help anyways. The second I clear the goblin group a gryphon fuckin' SWOOPS in and takes out all of the guards that were fighting the goblins with me. My roommate and I wtf'd super hard before the gryphon tried to fly away with me on it's back.![]()
