Great Gamble can be a lot of fun for opening fights too, hit them weak points.

I may or may not have mentioned this here but I have a ranger pawn with Great Gamble set and a Magnanimous Cloak equipped.
I load her up with large mushrooms before heading out each time and she functions as a stamina battery for my group.
Its actually pretty awesome.
I tried Mystic Knight and got my ass handed to me by that group of bandits outside of Grand Soren. I don't think it's the right class for me. I'll probably go back to it after I max out Magick Archer though.
I remember seeing early gameplay vids of M.Knight and thinking I would main that. Magick Archer is just too fun to switch off of.
Edit: And I just beat that dragon in Devilfire Grove. That was an awesome fight. Worst thing about that was controlling my pawns. None of them wanted to attack the thing. I had to spam up on the directional pad while charging up my shots. Got a ton of exp off him. Wish he would've dropped like a cool looking dragon helm or something.
Does he happen to respawn?
respawns every 7 days.
Has a chance to Dragon Forge your armor/weapons (which if you didn't know, is basically a +4 upgrade)
And to make the Drake drop a pawn that it's trying to possess, easiest way is to hit it in the hand or heart.
aaand DPad commands don't do much when it comes to what your pawns attack. You need to check the inclinations of your pawns. If your attacker pawns have Guardian inclination, they will be far less likely to attack
With regard to inclinations...

Thanks for that. I checked my rented pawns inclinations and they were both guardians with 1 having a pioneer sub and the other a acquisitor. They will both be going back to their owners.
My pawn is thankfully a scather/utilitarian type. I will no longer be spamming the control pad.
Well damn, gonna have to change my pawn when I get home from work. I knew Guardian felt useless.
EDIT: Ha, as I fix up my pawn to be Scather/Mitigator I set out with a fresh Magick Archer for some grinding, and to finish her Fighter. We got jumped by that drake up by the shadow fort. -_- We got 3 of his health bars low and then he just one-shotted all 3 of my pawns, and myself when I went to revive one of them. Fun times.
Yeah it's a cheap move but the Drake's roar will auto KO your pawns. When you're ready for round 2, equip ice enchantments and spells, and use full bend/dire arrow on it's heart to get it to collapse.
Since he's on MA... all he needs is Sixfold Bolt all day.
Picked it up to play last night, My MA I'd forgotten needs work, mostly because I never leveled through mage/sorc classes so I'm missing what I can only imagine are fantastic magic augments. I've switched to strider for now, my other favorite class to play. Wrecking shit pretty bad so far as Lv94. My tank Aria's been tweaked a bit if anyone's lookin for one with the correct settings. Almost all of her armor is dragonforged as well. PSN Eleven19
DA.
Gonna miss Aria then.
I used her a fair bit on past saves and I used her for a little while a few days ago when I was still in the 7X range before going hardcore on the Ur-Dragon.

Lol I logged in for the first time in several months and she had like almost a million in rift crystals from uses.
Now that I understand inclinations I keep finding pawns with the most fucking retarded ones and never any that have the correct inclination for the correct job @_@
Edit: One thing I haven't figured out yet. When you're in fights, it seems your Max HP goes down over time as you take damage. How do you cure that other than an inn?
I try and rent pawns from the players who were online recently so they get the most benefit from the rift crystals but those are the worst. I really have to sit there and search for pawns without guardian inclination.
As far as healing that lost damage, I just use whatever I have in my medicine tab. Anything that recovers hp should allow you to restore what red health you lost.
healing items such as foods and herbs can restore your HP back to max
and yeah, finding correct pawns can be a troublesome thing.
I usually search for a specific vocation then fill all 5 search spots with that vocation with pawns that have the spells/abilities I'm looking for.
Then after that, I'll first check their inclination and if their inclination isn't what I want, I ditch em. If it is a good inclination, then I'll check out their strength or magic stats and see how high/low they are
How much does pawn level affect usefulness? Been using a mage pawn, she's 28 and I'm almost 34. Also using a friends 29 ranger, I don't wanna give up either of them because they're both quite useful. Well-geared, too.
