Man, those bandits were dicks every single time I went there til I went mage and just Levin'd the fuck out of them. I can't believe how easy that was.

I'd say if you want to level faster early game, I'd just head south past the bandit castle and kill every monster I see. There's a ton of enemies in that direction, goblins, chimera, golem, cyclops, and a griffon if you're lucky. follow the coastline south and then head back up the mountainside west.

Also do pawns ever use the "launch ally into air" abilities? Never seen one do it ;x

My pawn did that shit all of the time to the point of annoyance when I had it equipped. It depends on their inclinations.

Launchboard on a pawn can be very very useful, but it takes some practice to actually realize it's happening and grab on at the right time.

I upgraded my pawn before me in hopes she gets hired. Doesn't seem to have worked. She's a different style than me though so most of my hand me downs dont work for her.

If me and my pawn can use the same equipment, I'll give my pawn the better stuff.
And when it comes to buying new gear at a shop, my pawn gets prioritized. Though it's rare that I don't have enough money to buy whatever I want for both characters assuming I dont go crazy with buying THE BEST gear imaginable for the first half of the game.

I spent time dragonforging most of my pawn's equipment by switching to a comparable job on my main and grinding dragon's. Its worth it IMO, pawn will work better for you and will be better suited to being hired in the rift by other players. And honestly if you're playing a completely different job from your pawn, you'll earn equipment for both of you pretty easily. Stuff you can't use and your pawn can, vice versa.

imo, its not even worth spending time DFing stuff til you're in post-game. Where you can acquire the best kinda stuff in the base game.
In DA, I'd assume its worth it to spend time doing that once you get a good ways into BBI.

If you're DFing while just going through the story... I think you're wasting time aside from the fact that the Drake gives pretty huge EXP.

The drake owned my ass when I ran into him. I'm lvl 34 or 35. When should I expect to be able to take him?

50ish is probably fine, you could do it lower with ice enchantments, frigor, glicel. Having ranged damage also helps knock him out of the air (Full Bend/Deathly Arrow). can stun/down him by smacking his head too, though the heart is generally the better target. He's kinda deceptively hard. If you're agressive with his weak point he can be stunned pretty easily. Run away from body slams, but stay close ish to avoid tail thrashes. Use times when pawns are grabbed as time to get in a big hit on his heart.
