Besides Shenrien obviously joking I believe reading around 14 release that Crysta caps at 100 dollars, can't have more than that on the account at any given time.

I don't get how people are sayin the only way is through click and buy... I didn't use that, like I said earlier I used ultimatepay which allows paypal. I don't use click and buy and I am able to use that paypal account with my card to pay for the game. Don't have to buy crysta, don't have to go through click and buy.

draylo...ultimate pay is the payment method for crysta. You might have set up your account with ultimate pay through paypal but you either a. bought crysta, b. haven't actually bought anything yet and your subscription will run out whenever they actually start using this system.

I am not saying "Deal with it", it is never good to make people have to fight to give you money. But as someone who has been in a perpetual fist-fight with Square to take my money for several years now since my bank does not have 3D Secure cards, I can tell you that the Crysta system is not as bad as this thread would lead you to believe. Once you get your PayPal account verified, it is a very quick process to add in Crysta- you can then go to the account management system and add in $10 then $5 in Cryasta to minimize the overpayment.

Yes, it would be better if you could chose the exact amount of Crysta (to the cent) that could be automatically paid every month. It would be much, much better. But as someone who on several occasions has had to sit on a non-toll-free phone support line in excess of an hour for the privilege of giving Square money, it could be so much worse.

Just allow for the exact amount of the service and stop fucking being a greedy as fuck company. I know they want to make money but when its this obvious, you just have to step back in amazement at how the system is set up.

It's bad enough I've picked up the tab on phonecalls to shitty customer service, dealt with chargebacks and their double dipping which has led to more customer service calls but now I have to overshoot on Crysta in order to play XI? lol

yes, because ultimate play will let you use different services depending on the country to buy crysta with.

IE. as bungiefan said above, the japanese have webmoney which allows them to purchase crysta in any amount. whereas in the US we only have paypal and gamecards.

Now your going to be getting your crysta from UP, but your in the same boat as everyone else who has to buy crysta in fucked up increments to pay for their accounts, AND while ultimatepay may automatically purchase your crysta for you, you still have to log in and "send it" to which accounts you want (which isn't a big deal if you don't mind the 2-4 mins that takes each month)

You should be more upset if the following scenario affects you.

you have 1 main, and 5 mules on your account totallying 17.95 a month
you have to purchase 2000 crysta a month to pay for that because they don't sell 1795 crysta increments
after 9 months, you'll get your extra "2.05" back because it will have accumulated to 18.45 which you would use to pay for that months bill.
heaven forbid though, that after 5 months, you start a new job, or you get banned, or you do something else like ride a bike or train an elephant, you don't get your money back.
and after 2 years, if you have unused crysta points, they expire.

it's like the scam they pulled off in "office space" except were not doing it to the big corporation...their doing it to us.

Alright relax, christ. No reason to act like animals over this. If I made a mistake then I take it back. It seems I have a click and buy account but I don't remember signing up with them because I didn't like getting two charges to my bank account and confirming what the charges were then adding those to a click and buy account i will never use instead of refunding. I don't get it, I am pretty sure I used ultimatepay and did paypal for the monthly charge.

I am not impressed that the best defense we as a community can come up with is "Well, it could be worse!". At best, this is one step forward, one step back. I am all for them adding new ways to pay for their services, but the fact that they keep taking away payment options, or adding new requirements for existing payment options is completely unacceptable.

SquareEnix needs to learn to stop punishing their loyal player base, and start finding ways to punish just those who are abusing the system. I am getting tired of this 'Little Timmy keeps acting up so you all get to sit in timeout!' bullshit. That is all there really is to this discussion.
