Alright relax, christ. No reason to act like animals over this. If I made a mistake then I take it back. It seems I have a click and buy account but I don't remember signing up with them because I didn't like getting two charges to my bank account and confirming what the charges were then adding those to a click and buy account i will never use instead of refunding. I don't get it, I am pretty sure I used ultimatepay and did paypal for the monthly charge.

are you sure you even have CnB and not the other way you said? When I did the transfer all I had to do was click hat transfer button and was done because I had already set up paypal n' all that forever ago with 14. So you might have done it that way too.

I think it was more the faint hope that you had pulled off some "don't need 3d secure bullshit when you register on ps2/3 or xbox" that had us in a tizzy...

Fucking hope.... i forgot i deleted that content ID in 2004 when I started dealing with SE.

You didn't need to register the initial ID with xbox/ps2/3, you just had to update your payment info on one of the consoles in order to bypass the 3D bullshit which is how I've been playing for the last year and a half. I'll be damned if I'm going to go and get a whole new card just to give one company money.

I honestly have no idea what I have now lol. I transfered the characters and kept clicking next, thought I saw credit/debit and my #'s and it confirmed. I did setup something with paypal/ultimatepay from FFXIV but since they never charged me maybe it didn't do anything.

When I first set up my S-E account to take Crysta, I put in $50. I added another $50 yesterday because most of the original Crysta was eaten up on fees from last month when they refused to take my non 3D Secure card. I tried to add in another $5 so that I wouldn't have to add in Crysta next month and got an error about adding more than 10,000 crysta. I think there is a cap to how much you can add per month.

And I need to get rid of some mules.

Just allow for the exact amount of the service and stop fucking being a greedy as fuck company. I know they want to make money but when its this obvious, you just have to step back in amazement at how the system is set up.

It's bad enough I've picked up the tab on phonecalls to shitty customer service, dealt with chargebacks and their double dipping which has led to more customer service calls but now I have to overshoot on Crysta in order to play XI? lol

It does suck that this is a cash-grab taking advantage of some of their most loyal customers who have helped to keep them out of some hard financial times considering the other quagmire they have in hyper-extended Beta. (And if someone is still playing after all of the shit we had to go through with unnerfed CoP, that is the type of loyalty that borders on the insane and should be rewarded.)

We, as the gaming community, have to do what we do with any new content; figure out how to make it the least disadvantageous for us. Pay as close as possible to the minimum amount that it will take to keep your characters going, even if that means doing multiple transactions. Dumping mules to get closer to even Crysta balances. Adding Crystal as close to when you need to as possible.

Just because they are going to earn extra money from us doesn't mean that they should earn a lot of it.

Yes, but until it actually goes into effect, we can continue bitching, in hopes that they change it, because this really isn't acceptable. The only reason any of us might even consider putting up with this bullshit is because of how addicting ffxi is. -_-

Most likely expires by date of purchase, per purchase, using the oldest amount of crysta before the newer crysta for payments.

Just to be extra certain, I tried to add Crysta again. After I clicked the "500 Crysta" option and pressed the "Next" button, I got this message:

You cannot exceed the Crysta limit (10,000 Crysta).
Please change the amount of Crysta to add and try again.

Like I said earlier, I am guessing that this is a per month limit.

I bought my first batch of Crysta(back when I thought I'd need it...) with the Ultimate Game Cards you can get at CVS/7-11. They're a tax free purchase and zero commitment to anything. I'd go with those in a heartbeat still. And I have to agree that the JPs still getting to pay with CC is absolute bullshit. =(

I'm sorry to ask this, and I hope no one takes this the wrong way... But is the major problem people have due to not wanting to use Click and Buy? Transferring the my 4 accounts and setting them up with automatic payments took less than 5 minutes for me. I can understand the problems with using the other options such as Crysta/Ultimate Pay but those seem like secondary options for people who can't do Click and Buy. Click and Buy doesn't charge anything extra as I've shown from my own experience, and as posted by SE here: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/th...830#post156830 Are people just worried that Click and Buy is going to charge them some kind of hidden fee or screw them over in some obscure way? I hope I don't sound overly cruel, but there's little chance of something like that happening when you just do small monthly payments and don't accept money. (Not to mention pretti much every major US credit card company will protect you against unauthorized charges.)

Yea it's annoying they're gonna keep a crysta balance in our accounts (and I have two myself, so I'm not super excited), but I'm kinda just used to so many things working that way these days like EZPass. The system isn't great, but it seems like there is a huge backlash over something that is probably easier to maintain than it was before. Unless I'm missing something?
