Anyone done a world transfer since this new implentation of services had an issue with their transfer? Was going to transfer an account this weekend, and the girlfriend already attempted to do hers through their new page. She selected on her new server and all. However, when she logged in to her account, it still had her account listed on our old and current server. Sorry if this has been posted, didn't see it a page or two back.

I just checked, I didn't transfer, I was billed the old way and I'm able to log on just fine.

Did 14 start charging? The one friend that transferred got charged for 14 and ended up with no crysta for 11 so he got kicked out.

If this question has already been answered, I apologize. I'm kind of in a hurry and my internet is being shitty and won't let me search the thread.

Anyway, I just bought a new key through steam and POL required me to go sign up for a SE account to "Complete player services." So, I did, got an account number, but changed the password before logging in the first time.

Now, it won't let me log onto the new account to start the character making process etc.

Ideas?

So uh, have any mules you want to reactivate? There's a fee for that:

GUIDE TO REACTIVATING OPTIONS
For your convenience, here are a few points we'd like to draw to your attention:

View service fees.
REACTIVATION

• If an Option's status is listed as "Cancelled" or "To be Cancelled," then you may "Reactivate" the Option.
• If the Option's status is listed as "To be Cancelled," then "Reactivation" is like changing your mind and revoking the cancellation.
  In this case, you will continue to be billed for the Option on a recurring basis as though you had never requested a cancellation.
• If the Option's status is listed as "Cancelled," then "Reactivation" is just like adding a new Option, except you're adding an Option that you've already created.
  In this case, you will be charged immediately for any Options you have selected, prorated according to the number of days left in the subscription period. Pricing is based on 30-day periods, regardless of the length of your subscription period.

• Example 1:
  
  • If you reactivate one Character Option (at $3 per 30 days) on the 20th day of a 30-day subscription period, then you will immediately be charged for the remaining 10 days of usage (plus the current day), or $1.10.
  
  
• Example 2:
  
  • If you reactivate one Character Option (at 300 Crysta per 30 days) on the 15th day of a 90-day subscription period, then you will immediately be charged for the remaining 75 days of usage (plus the current day), or 760 Crysta.
  
  

WARNING:
For credit/debit card users, there is a minimum charge of $1 per new Option.
For example, if you reactivate two Character Options (each costing $3 per 30 days) on the 28th day of a 30-day subscription period, you will immediately be charged $2, and the usual $6 in recurring charges will begin two days later as part of your recurring subscription fees.
Note:
This minimum charge does not apply if you pay with Crysta (if available in your territory).

RECURRING CHARGES

• The price of an Option will be added to your recurring FINAL FANTASY XI subscription fee.
• The FINAL FANTASY XI subscription fee, including all active Options, will be billed in a single charge at the beginning of the next subscription period.
  If your period length for your FINAL FANTASY XI subscription is 90 days, you will be billed again for each Option every 90 days.
• All recurring charges will be to the payment method you have chosen for this FINAL FANTASY XI Service Account.

CANCELLING OPTIONS

• You may cancel an Option at any time, but there are no refunds.
• If you cancel an Option in the middle of a subscription period, the Option will still be available for you to use until the subscription period ends.

• In case of any conflict, the terms of the FINAL FANTASY XI User Agreement shall supersede those outlined in this summary

I'm assuming Option = Content ID? I just reread the whole thing and I'm fucking confused. If they state they will pro-rate your fee based on the time of reactivation vs the time remaining in the subscription, then why not do so on the time of cancellation? Instead you will continue to be billed for the full subscription and no refund will be issued at the beginning of the next cycle.

That's another thing that worries me. If instead of automated billing system they hinted at in the future, will consist simply of giving more money every time you pay for subscription, then SE is not even considering the possibility of recurring payments on 30-day basis.

It's cut&pasted from the XIV section. XIV has 1/3/6 month billing options, and their characters cost $3, not $1 like FFXI.


Super lazy on their part as it causes confusion with the pricing model.

I can't get the captcha box to show up while trying to register for the click and buy payment method.

Tried several different browsers too. I called SE and they offered no support and said it's a 3rd party and to contact them ... My phone can't dial w/e over seas number click and buy shows. I really don't want to have to buy fake internet crystals to pay a bill with. Never thought they'd make it anymore difficult to give them my money. Every other billing cycle or so they'd delete my card info and I'd get locked out and have to re enter it

Unless you're a returning player you don't have to do the transfer just yet. If you are a returning player, know that soon they're setting the ability for exact purchases of crysta as well as automatically, reoccurring crysta purchases, so it's not bad if it's the easier option in the short term.

JP support finally emailed me back with what looks like instructions. Google Translate and RikaiChan aren't quite doing ti for helping me understand exactly what I need to do though. Here's the message (please don't quote it as it will break the forum table due to a bug with JP text handling).

Well crap, they told me to agree to the terms and name the POL ID to relink and SquareEnix IDs it's being moved from and to. Then they respond saying it can't be done because they are from different regions, which is why I emailed them for support in the first place.

Just done my crysta for the month - bottom option lets you select the amount of crysta, goes straight through - only minor bug on the EU account is that it says 1 crysta = 1 cent, but goes through at the rate of 1 crysta = 1 pence if you're paying in £
