Still waiting/hoping for direct payment or paypal.
I've been buying my Crysta through Paypal using the non-C&B option; I forget the name. To clarify, can people who don't pay through C&B buy exact amounts of Crysta?
I'm just going to buy 3 months worth of Cryst at a time. If I don't feel like playing anymore, most I'm out is 10-20$.
It'll show 'Custom' as another option below the $5/10/15/etc.
I added the bare minimum needed to keep my two accounts running. Kinda wish I didn't have to do the math myself. Wouldn't kill SE to show 'estimated cost' for continuous paying accounts on that page.
I just bought a specified amount via UtimatePay with Paypal.
It's hassle free, but still a pain to do it every month.
It would be great if it were automatic..

The following payment option is now available for subscription payments on your Square Enix account.
- Details of the new option
Input your credit/debit card details directly into the system to handle your subscription payments.
* Please note that this payment option will only be available for subscription payments and not for one-time purchases such as purchasing a Square Enix Security Token.
Very nice, changing it now!
I was starting to think they forgot about this, so long click-and-suck!
Now I'm getting an error when I try to switch Error code 601.. I contact them and they told me to contact my CC provider and ended the chat on me lol
edit: nvm was adblock or noscript
Now if only it didn't cost me more to do direct with them instead of Paypal....
Oh well, adding Crysta monthly isn't that big an issue for me.
How does it cost more?
Well, about damn time!
Too bad I decided to stop paying for this game based on their other retarded design decisions, so I guess it ended up not mattering after all! (For me, anyway.)
Glad to see it's finally done, though.
Given the trouble that SE gave some ppl with CCs back in the day, I'll just stick to paypal and keep my CC away from SE.
I tried to use the continuous payment thing today and it won't take my credit card, even though I used this CC to pay SE for years. On top of that, SE is rejecting all payments from my Paypal account for some reason. The SE side says something like, "Your payment was rejected," but the Paypal side says it was canceled by Seller. Similar thing with the Credit Card. SE says it was rejected, credit card thing doesn't have it going through at all. I'm beginning to wonder if SE got on some credit shit list and is officially untrusted by everyone now.
I tried to do it from the German version and it didn't work, so I assumed there was some problem because it was trying to charge me in Euros. I proxied myself so I could do it through the US version and got the same result.
Either way, looks like they're back in the "we don't want your money" mode full force. Today my mule deactivated, tomorrow my main will deactivate. I have no way to pay them.
This sounds like what happened when I tried adding payments while logged on to my VPN. I was told later that having my VPN active was triggering the fraud software and automatically cancelling the transaction. I ended up having to use a VNC connection to my parents computer in the US and adding payment info from there... Luckily somehow my IP address changed a couple months ago to one that isn't blocked by SE, so I no longer needed the VPN to log onto FFXI or to update my payment stuff.
My accounts are now all deactivated at the moment though, since I refuse to pay for a game I'm no longer really playing. The relic 99 trials pushed me over the edge, I barely had any time to play anymore, and they were telling me I'd need to do 20+ ADL for each of my relics... I barely know anyone on the game anymore, certainly not enough people who would be willing to help me with that many ADL kills and get basically nothing for themselves.
Okay, so here is how it actually works (I think):
SE claims they have enabled Direct Payment, but this is only partially true. Everything still goes through UltimatePay/PaySpan/PaySpan Inc., which I guess is their payment processor. If you get an error when attempting to pay SE in any of these ways DO NOT DISREGARD IT. Errors may mean that your connection went bad or you have NoScript/Adblock enabled (disable both of them while paying), but they also mean that you're meeting one of the four criteria that cause the payment processor to deem your transaction is fraudulent.
Being rejected for any of these reasons will not show up as a unique error. It will appear as Error 601, or a non-specified payment failure if you are going through UltimatePay to buy Crysta. Every time you are rejected for one of these reasons, your account is given a "fraudulence point." After you collect too many of them, you cannot complete any transactions through the account even if you no longer satisfy the above conditions (aka, even if you look legit). The rep estimated I would need to wait a week for mine to decay so I could get someone nearer to my billing address to buy Crysta for me.Originally Posted by UltimatePay Rep
As it is, I cannot pay for the game until these points decay off my account or I set up a ClickAndBuy account (lol, no) because all of the options other than ClickAndBuy are actually UltimatePay/PaySpan in disguise.
Byrth I would feel bad for you son, but when I complained about the relic trials in game you gave me I-don't-care via the fact that it wasn't relevant to you!
So SE has started my account transfer to relink my JP POL ID from my JP SE Account to my NA SE Account. When I try to log in I am LM-11 for "Online Manners" violation, and the POL ID is no longer showing on my JP SEAM page. It shows on my NA SEAM page as "Unusable" with [JP] following the POL ID. They emailed me on the 13th to say they were doing the transfer and that I'd be locked out of my account while it was in process.
Any idea how long my account is going to remain unusable? I've heard some people have had immediate access after a relink, and some have had to wait a while. I've been out of the game since July and fighitng with them for access ever since.
