Can't say it bothers me. I'm getting very easy gathering SP now, what about those who did 45-50 pre-patch? We're all benefiting with changes either before or after the changes. Game is in complete redevelopment, it's expected. Sure it would be nice to be rewarded for missed SP but if you do it for one scenario you have to do it for them all or everyone gets pissed.

What he said. It's there to keep you from switching to lower-rank classes right before you turn it in and earn the reward(s) because they can't control what rank you actually perform the quest duties on.

First of all low level exp comes so fast it would be a total waste to blow it on something you could have gained in a few hours as opposed to using it on a high level job that gets exp much slower.

Second of all if they really didn't want people to do that they could at least make a reasonable range where you wont be penalized (~10 ranks would be fair I think). Like I said if I can complete a R37 quest at R30 I don't want to have it sitting in my log awaiting completion for X weeks nor do I want to be penalized for not sucking by completing it early.

I am at the point where I want to party instead of doing leves for a wonderful 3k SP (23 THM) but....there is no way to get a party together because the seek invite option is so horrible and starting a party has been ultimately a waste of time every time I tried it....

That's my point and my idea would be closer to fair than it is right now because one group is getting nothing while everyone else gets goodies.

Right now, it's:
If you never did any quests, you are benefiting.
If you did some quests, you're still benefiting.
If you did all the quests, you got screwed.

It should be:
If you never did any quests, you are benefiting.
If you did some quests, you're still benefiting.
If you did all the quests, you're still benefiting. (small retro-active reward)

Doing leves at rank 43 we were getting 100-200 sp a pop with GF and the final reward was ~5,000 sp. 7,000 if we got a speed bonus. for people without the leve they got 500-700 sp.

Killing beastmen type mobs you can get 300 sp each easy, continuously killing. This is as a LNC and THM duo, I believe there are additional sp bonuses for larger parties?

Has anything been figured out what constitutes the completion speed bonus? Like if it's a scale or a single time limit that's all or nothing.

There's a batch of Rank 40~44 Ixali in a cliff above their camp in Treespeak. Really easy 300+ exp a pop solo in the mid-30s. I would say the same about the same-rank Sylphs in the areas by Moonspore Grove, but their base skill rewarded is a lot lower than the Ixali. Not to mention it appears that they haven't fixed mage-type mobs to physically attack at melee range and still only use Spirit Dart, so your evasion/defense is almost pointless on Sylphs (CON) and possibly(?) Kobolds (THM).

If you did all the quests, you got screwed.

I'm not being snarky, but I believe the benefit is that you have r50 character that is able to experience all the content, get gear, make gil, etc.

Bottomline, they fucked people who did all the missions, thank god I never did all of them.

Uh yeah, the quests didn't get people to 50... and the quests didn't reward you with anything besides some cutscenes and laughable amounts of gil (in this economy).

Well you know there's always two way to look at this...

Let's say I give you that 100,000 SP you want, but to be fare with the new players, i'll remove the SP you gathered from the healing glitch when the game went live. Also, the tiny amount of MP spells/heals would cost (thus making it faster to level) and all those "extra sp" from leve linking

I think this quote from Ragnar has been overlooked (I added a little more to it). I feel that this is by far the most valid "against" argument there is atm. Sure, if you played a melee class and didn't use heals and didn't leve-link then I could overlook this fair point.

Out of curiosity what was the healing glitch? I wasn't playing at launch.

I thought they actually knocked people's ranks back down for exploiting that...

I might be mistaking it with something else, but I think it was way back when you got skill from abilities and spell usage and not from actually killing mobs, so a party of 15 people would just spam curing on one person taking hits on a rather strong mob... and they would spam massive amounts of skill off of a single, cheap, repeating spell that had no cap per mob.

Casting buffs/heals or something managed to bypass the 500sp limit per mob (not sure how it worked exactly, if you needed to trigger a glitch or if it was just like that). So a large group of people fighting a mob would spam buffs and heals on each other, iirc each person a spell hit had a chance to proc sp gain which combined with the group bonus (sp gains were increased for more members rather than slightly decrease) = lots of sp. They would build up this sp, then kill the mob and get tons from it very quickly.

SE did remove the ranks gained by using this exploit though.

To the few that turned themselves in they were down ranked, alot were not and kept their level's.

Basically people just made a big group, and spam cure while "aggro" to something.

The rise of the bots started very obscurely at the near end of Tanaka's control on FFXIV. After Yoshi P took over, and the security? task force was basically laid off, the rise of bots sky rocketed, to where they know SE doesn't do anything to them (and probably still doesn't).

During that time bots went from obvious robotic automations hiding in caves/corners in remote parts of the world, to highly customized and advanced bots you can barely tell apart from a actual person sitting right beside you in town.
