Damaga types and mob weakness

Hello!
Seeing as how leves got nerfed, I can only see grind parties being good SP atm. But to make really good parties, I'm thinking some kind of info on what kind of damage types work well on which mobs would be needed. Can anyone contribute with some data on what works well on certain mobs? Thanks in advance

I'm not convinced damage types even matter yet, except elements on elementals. Do they matter?

I've not really paid attention to this much either. As a LNC20~ though, i found Coblyns annoying as hell to damage in Nanawa. The Bomb Embers & Puk actually died much quicker. I'm assuming Coblyn/Doblyn have a resistance to Piercing? idk

I think they just have a huge resistance to damage in general (maybe just physical?)... when you break their Ore Cluster (from behind) or they use their Ore Geyser move, their natural damage mitigation is removed.

Flans absorb elemental magic damage based on their color - Red absorbs fire...etc, but takes bonus damage from the corresponding strong element.
Fire does bonus damage on bombs, ice takes a cut.

Imps seems to take less ice damage, gnats seems to take less thunder damage.

I'm fairly sure that the gnats are weak to Earth. I've also been told that non-flying things with wings (Dodo, Puks, etc.) are weak to ice.

Raptors appear to be weak against wind, and in my experience goats appear to be weak to fire.

I never knew if they followed through with those effects, but the official site lists what arrows are best against what mobs and undead are weak to silver arrows. I doubt it would have any difference on the Ogre or anything else not undead.

Is that arrow thing even reliable? I just assumed since coral arrows have a water attribute on them they'd be effective on the Ogre since it's fire based.

Except that fire mobs aren't weak to water.

I'm confused on this, can you supply information on where you got this? I'm pretty positive the final fantasy series has stuck to their roots with the elemental chain. Why would they change that, of all things, now?

They changed it because they wanted to have 2 wheels instead of 1 big elemental wheel, its been like this since alpha/beta, and they had some lodestone update about it. Earth -> lightning -> water makes sense, but wind is just confusing.
