Managed to finish an 80 mile ride, at a decent pace (15mph) for my longest distance ever ridden. Previously it had been 40miles, so I doubled it and managed to keep my normal pace, or at least slightly slower. Gonna see if I can find a century ride sometime soon, it was a blast. Ended up renting a surfboard down the beach after riding but got horrible cramps in my quads/hamstrings cause the cold water I guess.

I just bought a Trek 1.5 back in June, I can't stand running so I figured the only way to get cardio is biking or swimming. I hate distance swimming so I don't forsee any Triathlons any time soon. I think my next ride might be from Philly to NYC to visit some friends. Although I think it's only 100mi, I'm probably gonna break it into a two day ride and camp somewhere on the way.

I was thinking of training for that or a marathon for the next summer (I like the idea of bicycling far more, easier on the 'ol knees)... how long did it take you to work towards that?

Hmm, I ride didn't do much training to be honest. I ride home from work (~30mi) once a week and would occasionally do a 40mi ride, maybe once a month. And since I didn't ride much before I bought the bike in June I would think it'd be pretty easy to get into shape for it.

Hmm... 25 mile ride to my job... makes me wonder how practical that would be!

Though, man. I don't even want to know what time I'd have to wake up to still get there in time for 7AM.

I used to have a 1.5! traded up for a felt AR4 this year. philly-nyc sounds like a great ride, make sure you take plenty of pictures with no shirt on.

I'm as easy as they come. The girl in the photo from the race and I are having an abs competition, I'm failing pretty miserably but I only just started working on em about 3 weeks ago.

If you do some sleuthing, I think there's some on BG. I still find that thread hilarious. When every guy got outted,even if half of their submissions were fakes, it was incredible.

Not sure what I've been projecting, but I'm not much of a Democrat/liberal... I'm more somewhere in between, though I'm still figuring out exactly where I fall.

But then again, being anything other than a far right Republican makes you a Democrat these days.
